How odd, thought Shinji, spotting a strange coin on the floor of the phone booth he found himself in. It looked ancient beyond reckoning and appeared to be made of silver underneath a thick layer of tarnish. And it called to him. On some primordial level it was pretty much guaranteed that he'd pick it up from the second he saw it, and so, he stooped down, and catching a faint whiff of brimstone, picked up the coin. Shinji's world went white...
Deep within the GeoFront Gendo Ikari manages to turn a sudden urge to crap his pants into a simple shudder because defecating himself in public during an angel attack will disrupt his scenario, nevertheless the half heard malevolent cackle as he wonders what factor he could have possibly missed sets his teeth on edge...

Scenario: Shinji Ikari gets a coin and becomes a denarian. Discuss...

It might be a fun read.

How do you reconcile DF canon with the Second Impact?

And how do you manage the clash between DF angels being spiritual entities and NGE angels being biologically constructed by the First Race?

Its not that hard, the Angels name probably comes from Nerv/Seele's fondness for religious symbolism. Look at what BPen did in THAT fic - other nations know the Angels by other names (The Enemy, Xeno Threat etc).

Why would one of the Denarian coins be just lying in some random phone booth? Either their locked up in the Vatican or being distributed in a calculated manner by the current leader/strongest, denarian.

Don't some of them also have something of a guiding force to pick a host at the same time.

Dresden Files. A series of novels (and two short stories and a graphic novel) about Harry Dresden, Wizard Private Eye. The Denarians are Fallen Angels who have been bound into the thirty silver denarii that were paid to Judas Iscariot.

I was expecting Dwarf Fortress. I am disappoint.

This is a masterful engraving of a boy and a girl and fans. The boy is strangling the girl. The fans are cheering.

It's even easier: in canon, the word mistranslated as 'angel' is ?? (shito), which literally means 'disciple' or 'apostle'. In contrast, the actual Japanese word for 'angel' is ?? (tenshi). I think the translators picked it because they're named after apocryphal angels (Sachiel, ... etc.).
