Unconvinced by this trailer.

Not sure that there'd by so much open bullying in Star Fleet.

Also, aren't all these jokes already clichéd?

So, I saw the first 12 minutes of Lower Decks and I don't like it.

The main character is a bully who would never have graduated Starfleet Academy.

The jokes are not funny and the art is ugly.

I only saw the previews, the art and ship style turned me off right away. The slapstick reminds me of the old Star Wreck books, pure parody, which apeals to some, but after 2009 and Discovery, that holds no interest to me.

Reminder that Season 1 of Star Trek Picard is now out on Blu-Ray and DVD.

If, uh, you need to punish yourself....???

A first look at the new Star Trek Prodigy. Personally, while it is interesting to see a non-human main cast, I can't help but feel that this has been "inspired" by other, better properties.

Remember that Alex Kurtzman is an even bigger hack than I am.

Well done, Paramount, nothing like geo-locking the trailer to really get me excited for a series.

I'll repost my comment here:

Is Picard going to do something other than apologise for being Picard in this season? Will Jurati face sanctions for murder? Will there be fallout from the Romulans' actions? Will that AI still come now that it know where things are?

While Q has always been an intriguing character, I've never liked him. Granted, that was probably intentional on the writers' part. He's always been a bully (introducing the Borg to them particularly) and had little growth from his experience of being "human" in TNG. The Q as a whole don't seem to really care about humans, just him, and even then it seems as a fascinating toy.

From a slightly different perspective, he appears to behave a bit like the Chousin from Tenchi Muyo, where they are watching to see if they can get a being/species to evolve to their level.

Not sure I like a season of Picard based on Q's interference.

Hmmm... always liked Q, he is all you said, but...

We, meaning the federation in general, or the enterprise/voyager crews in particular, learned from those encounters, and he has helped.... as bad as the borg were, how much worse would it have been with no notice? I think it mostly he plain can't think like us, so is not limited to our responses

I've not watched Picard series though except some choice spoilers on youtube... so cant say too much on it.

I'll probably eventually buy that series on dvd/blu ray.

Season 4 of "Star Trek: Discovery" starts streaming on CBS All Access Paramount+ tomorrow!

No one here cares, though!

I've been tempted to get Picard, and I'm really waiting to see about Where No Man Has Gone Before, which shows promse, but you are correct in that I'm not interested in Discovery.

And, two days before it starts, they announce that it won't be on Netflix like the previous three seasons. Meaning that overseas fans (strange, but they exist) will have to wait until 2022 or pirate it. Well done, CBSViacom!

I saw the first couple of episodes of Picard and I wasn't impressed. Then I saw some reviews of later episodes, especially the last one, and I'm glad I did.

The Red Letter Media Plinkett review of it was brutal.

I watched Lower Decks, and it wasn't as bad as I feared. There's a lot of humor there, amid the constant references and callbacks to previous Trek lore. Not for everybody, but I rather liked it.

Lower Decks just feels like a collection of references and Memberberries. I need more than that if the character is an unlikeable asshole who never (or at least, very rarely) gets their comeuppance.

Having read the old Star Wreck books years ago, which was a deliberate parody, and then seen some of the previews of Lower Decks around th etime of the first episode, I cannot bring myself to actually try to watch the series.

It's a throwback to the 90s, when international viewers only got to watch "The Next Generation" or "Deep Space Nine" after their current seasons concluded on US TV!

At least, that's how it worked when I grew up in Asia back then; maybe European audiences were luckier in their syndication licenses.
