Stats for fics

I don't actually write fanfiction (or at least, I haven't yet), but I have quite a few fic ideas. That said, I'm a HUGE d20 buff, and when I think of fics I'd like to write, the two start mixing in my mind.

I keep having ideas of writing, as an example, a Negima fic, and then writing a corresponding piece giving d20 stats to the characters, and charting who does what action at each part of the fic. It'd sort of be the reverse of a story-hour (where actually tabletop role-playing sesseions are written out in novelized form).

Of course, this has its problems. The source material for these fics isn't designed with any RPG system in mind, so that can sometimes become difficult. However, I think it'd still be really cool to do.

I know what your talking about and I have put it into practice, sorta.

I have an eva/everything anime and video game story in the works. I used this idea to create a BESM (Tri Stat System by Guardians of the Order) campaign. Got units, characters, weapons, vehicles, skills and whatnot inlcuded.

When I release the story, I also plan to release the stats for each thing as a side bonus for each chapter =P

Sounds like you need to purchase BESM d20. It was designed to handle anime-based roleplay, though it seems to have gone through little playtesting.

In dnd terms, they would just be low lv experts with access to some major magic items. Some of the more martially inclined people would have more class lvs though. But overall, negima doesn't really translate well in dnd sense, nor do most anime.

I'm not sure if your first paragraph is directed at me or Perfect Psionic Soldier. I have BESM d20, both the 3.0 and 3.5 versions. I gave it a test run making stats for Yuuki from the Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki webcomic, and it turned out quite nicely. (It's a pity that the company that made the book, Guardians of Order, is now in such dire straits.)

In regards to Negima, I actually think that'd work quite well, as far as d20 goes. The spellcasting system doesn't seem that different, and so far I think all it'd take are a few tweaks to get a Negima d20 rules set down pat.
