Related but not from Steam. until July 4 all Interplay games at GOG are half-off:

<a href='http://www.gog.com/en/promo/interplay?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=game_subject&utm_campaign=interplay_promo_reminder' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>http://www.gog.com/en/promo/interplay?utm_..._promo_reminder</a>

This includes games like Freespace and Fallout 1/2.

All I really want from this sale is Fallout: New Vegas. I saw a hard copy at Wal-Mart for 29.99 but decided to wait and compare. Either way, I'm grabbing a copy soon enough.

This does not include Planescape though, despite Interplay owning Black Isle. Sigh.

Well Bit Trip Runner looks like a certain buy, but I'm not wasting a transfer fee just for a $2.50 game, so.... what else?

Anyone got an opinion on Hydrophobia?

I wonder if you can buy from a web browser. I've only got access to my linux box at this point.

Yeah you can. No problems at all there.

Edit: Oh fuck Assassin's Creed Brotherhood! Uhh... I'll wait to see if Ubisoft has a daily special they're promoting instead of a general catalog that drops it to 25%. It just might reach 50% though I doubt it.

IIRC it only ever dipped down to 33% off during Ubisoft Week. Good luck though, I myself am looking to get it on the cheap as well.

EDIT: How is Recettear? It looks interesting, so I'm considering it. That and the Witcher 2. But I think the latter will go on sale for much more in a hypothetical christmas sale.

Reccetear is a solid game with lots of recs from people on this forum. If you don't have a problem with moe anime style sprites and art, it's very fun.

God I love the summer sale.

Thoughts on 6/30:
Borderlands. For fuck's sake, it's $7.50, if you don't have it and you don't get it now you're an idiot!

Anyone played Blood Bowl? That is a game I was sometimes thinking about, but doubt a bit the quality.

I don't think anything will top the Thanksgiving sale last year though. That junk was ridiculous.

Just checked, Reccetear is about the same price on gamersgate, if you prefer to avoid steam.

Also, $7.50 for Borderlands? Here it seems the price is the same just in pounds.

Hot damn, I hadn't done the math of Borderlands or Oblivion. *Might* pick up Oblivion, but I might reinstall Morrowind instead. Borderlands is something I'd consider if more of my friends played.

Honestly, Back to the Future looks really good. I love Telltale Games, and I've heard good things about BttF. Any fellow adventure gamers have an opinion?

I bought BttF. I've only dowloaded and played through part1 thus far, haven't had time. It was pretty good, but occasionally suffered from the same fault as Machinarium; some of the puzzles are obscure.

Hydrophobia: Prophecy was cheap, and got some good ratings, so I bought it today. Anyone played it?

already own borderlands, oblivion, Recettear, so I got Bit.trip today.

Wow, it's surprisingly hard at times, and i'm only a few stages in.

If you trust a friend/relative with your account details they can buy games for your account from America/Asia and it will be denominated in USD. You will need to wire them the cash though since they have to use their credit cards.

Either that OR get someone to gift you it and you wire them the money

That's what I did while I was in Europe ;p

BttF looked too tempting, but I was really surprised to see Armed and Dangerous on there. GoG also had Giants Citizen Kabuto along with the Interplay stuff. Nabbed all that. Good thing I saved up.

FWIW The Longest Journey and its sequel Dreamfall are both 75% off at the moment. I've heard good things about these games so I think I'll grab em.

Other cheap stuff I noticed but already own: Braid 50% off, World of Goo 50% off, Shatter 75% off, Trine 75% off, Borderlands GOTY 75% off, Oblivion GOTY 66% off.

I thought the controls in Dreamfall were weird, but I might have to pick up the first one, I hear it's incredible.

edit: saw the price of $2.50, and went ahead and bought it. Worth a playthough at least.

Well, I bought the Oblivion complete pack, am still debating BttF and decided to pass on Borderlands. I'm waiting with bated breath to see if New Vegas will get a discount; other than that, I think I'll hold off unless some game that everyone's playing gets an uber-discount.
