I wasn't sure if this should go in movie fiction, or General, so if it's off, please move or close. Now that the summer movie season has started, what do you plan to go see, if anything. I'll admit, Im becoming impressed with the new Superman Returns, X-3, unsure for now, MI-3, well everybody I've talked with online and RL, has said that it's the best of the three. Pixar's Cars, not sure yet, several other cartoons for the screen, also not sure, but will probably take my boy to see them anyway. Anything else that looks like it'll rock, or is supposed to rock, and instead looks sucky? Speak out and talk about it.

Heh. I think this thread works here... and the movie forum. So meh. Doesn't matter.

As for the movies, MI: III looks alright. Haven't seen the first two yet though. Also, I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise's recent antics that makes him look like a psycho (which is unfortunate since I like a number of his movies).

Poseiden? Don't make me laugh. This movie looks bad. Yes, it's a disaster movie which has a history of cheese. But taking away that aspect, the idea of escaping an upside down ship... not a disaster I would 'escape' to. -_-

Cars? Not sure about this movie. I trust Pixar to make a great movie. But... well, everyone makes a bomb once in a while. I'm wondering if this one is it...

I'm curious about the De Vinci Code. My sister gave me the book that... I haven't read yet. :sisi: Still, with all the buzz surrounding it, might as well see it right? Besides that, it does look good. And Tom Hanks hasn't gone insane on use, as opposed to the other 'Tom'. <_<

Superman Returns? This is probably my most anticipated movie of this year. Which given that I'm not jumping up and down about it... should tell you something about what I think about the movies coming out this year. It looks alright. But I'll see what the critics will say about it before I watch it.

X-Men 3 could be good. But I'll probably wait for the DVD for this one.

I read the Da Vinci Code, and it's a pretty good book, so I'm interested in seeing how good the movie will be. As for everything else...

For one, I hate Tom Cruise with a passion I normally reserve for Hitler and Clinton alone, so that rules out Mission Improbable (not to mention that I hate that cheesy James Bond ripoff even excluding the actor). Poseidon is stupid and only has a single chance at redemption, and that involves U-Boats. Pixar movies make me physically ill, so you have a better chance of seeing me eat my own foot than watch Cars. Also, the X-Men just aren't my thing (though me liked The Punisher lots).

While it'll be in the Christmas season, not Summer, I'm curious to see how the new James Bond movie will do this year. Right now they're say that it'll be a lot closer in style to Dr. No, with a Bond that has much less gadgets, and more of a 'kill 'em all sort of style, plus the reason why he hops in and out of womens beds like a rabbit (this is supposed to be his "Official Origin" story after all.)

Forgot about the DaVinci code, and yeah, Tom Hanks has , imo, managed to stay incredibly grounded, considering his success, unlike others we could mention (hops up and down on couch).

A commercial for some new Adam Sandler movie just came on, missed the title but it's looking like it'll be hilarious. Gonna have to pay attention to this one.

Personally I tend to not watch the theatrical adaptation of books that I've read because I am on of those type of people who come out with comments like "Where the F@$# are the Iranian terorists!?" in movies(see Sum of All Fears) So the DaVinci Code is a toss up. My siblings are holding my Tom Clancy misprint hostage in order to get me to take them to see Over the Hedge. X3 actually is the only movie that I have no reservations on actually seeing. As for MI:III, I could barely stand him in War of the Worlds, no way in hell will I willingly watch him for two hours. :huh.:

Tom Cruise was tolerable before he went batshit crazy.

Frankly, I feel tremendously sorry for Katie Holmes. Once, so *cute* and now...so utterly spoiled.

Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it.
