Would depend on how you plan to go about it. Since defense is regulated to to the shield now, I'm assuming the right is going to serve a different function altogether? Left arm of the devil is likely going to still be about attack, but not sure what right of the giant is going to do with that covered.

Unless Giant is about physical strength and overwhelming attack nature while Devil serves a more general 'curse' like purpose. After all, Devils are less about overwhelming power and instead Deception. More potent but not as devastating or crowd controly. Would help explain how an attack with so little energy charge literally hit an arrancar so hard it exploded him right out of resurrection, as one of my avvy's showcases. :snigger:

Actually this could work quite well, particularly if he could channel those nasty skills of the left through the shield. Chad's dominant arm is actually his right hand, which is why it seems strange for that to be the one focused on defense. But focus that on the offensive devastation while he shields with his left and channels nasty shit through it on the side and you could work with something.

Though since the shield states not developing hard to say where that arms going to go in its later form. The left has some decent room to develop with spikes and knuckles for its final stages, not sure where to take the right past El Directo if the shield's gone.

Maybe focus on giving it exhaust points to rocket forwards for devastating punches and to channel larger blasts? Do something similar to what the first state has with the fins (Only reshaped for sleekness so they're less blocky and probably smaller). Allow those to fire energy out the backside to propel the entire arm forwards (Similar to what he tried to do against Mosqueda but less awkward since he has something else to fire out from).

And maybe also something like the spikes on the front end of the shield to allow for channel points for energy attacks. The end result should combine the smaller features of El Directo, the Original, and the Sheild arm, resulting in something simple but effective.

Hard to say how the order of development should go though. The sheild probably is a good starting point since that's probably what he's going to start with, though you could just as easily keep to basics and start him off with the Right arm, and then have him develop the sheild as the Full Bring arc goes on, his power resonating with so many of those sorts. If you go with the bird too though at this point this could get complex too quickly, but the problem with the bird is that you have to bring it out early otherwise he's simply not going to have it at later points like in HM or SS.

Unless he gets devastated against say Grimmjaw near his house and Shibata resonates with him then, protecting him long enough for Ichigo to help him through or something.

Regardless Chad should actually finalize something in Hueco Mundo since that really worked quite well for his development there. But if you go into a Hell arc, going into the Left arm might be IDEAL by that point, either finalizing or initializing. Wouldn't be that hard either, the anime for example had Shrieker escape hell later down the line which led to shenanigans.

But by that point we're looking too far ahead honestly. Best to focus on keeping things simple for now. Hard to solidify some set order when we're juggling so much over so few arcs. Developments have to be interspaced quite a bit or it just looks like you're constantly pulling powers out of your ass. :huh.:

I'm taking a simple route for Chad's powers. His medallion acts as his defensive powers whilst his arms are both aspects of his offensive powers, just expressed in different ways. The right arm focuses on external damage with explosive blunt force and his left arm focuses on internal damage with vibrations/shockwaves.

A development occurring within Hueco Mundo could happen but it might happen after his arms have already developed. My interpretation of the deciding factor for ChadÆs achieving his true form wasnÆt the atmosphere of HM but the realisation that his powers resembled that of a hollow and of his own desire to fight. Not that HM wasnÆt significant but its role can be done through other means as I see.

This time around the second form of his right arm is its true form so that his arms form a more natural set. Their development will probably overlap; starting with the shield, his arm awakens against Demoura, the shield completes itself with Xcution (another factor for bonding between the groups) and he realises the true form of his arms against Jackie.

IÆm still not certain on Shibata but he probably wonÆt come out until after SS. TheyÆll be numerous mentions of him prior to that so that heÆs a known quantity as well as some foreshadowing for his potential.

HellÆs a long way way if I ever take the story that far. More likely IÆd end up doing that scenario in a hypothetical sequel.

You seem to be rushing it a bit there, completing ALL three abilities in a single overarching arc? Space some development out for the SS training at SS itself at least, and that's before we even get to Hueco Mundo where shit gets real.

Hell, keep in mind even with just the first arm Chad was a beast, oneshotting third seats and even had an attack powerful enough to give Shunsui pause. No need to start that arc with him fully decked out, that's outright overkill. Sure he had problems with D-Roy, but half of that was plot and the other half was not having a real answer to flash steps.

Granted we have the mini sections of the arc to hopefully space things out significantly, but it still might be more ideal to focus on only unlocking two, and completing one of them. Completing the shield should be fairly simple since it's not a power that needs stages like the arms for it to develop. He just needs to learn how it properly functions to increase its utility down the line.

I'd actually hold off actually advancing his arm till either the SS arc training phase or in the SS arc itself. Whether or not it's complete with just the El Directo version is up to you, I tend to favor a three stage advancement myself for these sorts of things, but admittedly if we don't go with the shield or alt variants all we're really doing is giving it tiny advancements that are purely aesthetic coupled with an arbitrary 'it's more powerful than before' attached.

I would suggest one more at least with the fins/spikes I mentioned for utility, obviously nowhere near as massive as the shield and in actuallity probably as small as the fins were in the first stage, but it gives him a handy function at least. Because if nothing else being able to propel himself forward by expelling energy out the back gives him some other means of using it. :snigger:

I'd also suggest holding off on the left till at least SS. Maybe even all the way till Hueco Mundo. Though granted if you go multiadvancement for that in three stages too like I was planning there might not be much need to wait all that long, especially if you give Chad a decent number of fights in the SS arc. I had a nice image in my head where the final state increases the spikes on the shoulder to three, adds one on the elbow to channel that black lightning through too, and adds tiny spikes on the knuckles to jab into foes with the energy attacks.

Seemed a pretty sweet way for it to advance in my head, doubly so if the ribcage bit advanced properly so it didn't look as silly. :sisi:

You've got a point on it being too much, too soon when broadening his skills would be more realistic and serve him equally well. I forget that they'll have access to a great number of techniques thanks to their business with Xcution.

This ChadÆll have one technique per arm but the main point would be the way he uses them to produces different effects; punch enhancer, the projectile and the subterranean attack. Those are then combined with his shieldÆs properties and Fullbring tech and in the distant future he has full body armour which will provide some additional abilities.

The SS training with Jackie could be what sets him on the right track for his left (more in his state of mind than anything). And confronting the more bloodthirsty shinigami would push that further along.

Though my SS arc is a bunch of random ideas rather than a cohesive whole, atm.

Training with Jackie will be interesting because the way we have it set up, she'd have faced Shinigami before, so she's fully capable of preparing him for what's to come. Not as well as goddamn Urahara, who is one, but he didn't prep them literally at all. Presumably she'd be aware of at least flashsteps, maybe some kido and how they work, and perhaps even a few of the parameters behind shikai. Meaning Chad goes in knowing what to worry about in a general sense. Granted there's no way they'd know about captains or bankai, but general knowledge is better than none. :sisi:

SS arc is a bit down the line so it's probably not ideal to go too deep into it just yet. I had a rewrite of SS myself where Chad ended up facing Kenpachi near the end and managed to progress his powers purely because the fight awakened the age old blood feud between hollows and shinigami. However Komamura might make a more interesting opponent, not just because of the whole big guy thing, but their ideals and emphasis on loyalty is very similar as well. And he's fluffy so Chad would be happy about it too.

I'm actually stunned the sheer amount of synergy the two have hasn't been exploited in canon.

Sadly Ishida and Mayuri is kinda set in stone, the rewrite I had managed to circumvent it via bring Kon along instead, who ALSO would have beef with the guy. That was a fun little bitty there. Lightning Tatsuki might have an edge against Hitsugaya depending how she develops, though his subplot at this point probably takes him off the front lines unless he tries directly investigating the group. The rest probably should avoid any captain fights if only because I'm not sure they could reasonably take any without some serious shenanigans.

Well there's always Mayuri, but like I said him and Ishida is set in stone. I suppose someone with really good sonar capabilities could take Tousen? Which given our list of who gets what skills... Orihime with that ocean thing from Kekkaishi? Actually that could be very interesting now that I think about it, get one of the fairies to touch the sword and it grants all of them their senses back perhaps? Only problem with him is that nasty shikai tech that knocks you out.

Gin too if he keeps purely to Shikai, an good portal could screw him over even in bankai actually, and drawing the blade away with attraction or repulsion would also prove effective. Actually if the blade also conducts electricity Tatsuki too could handle that. Maybe a three on one fight where they mostly survive due to Gin playing, good synergy, and his shikai being garbage. :hmm:

Mostly though the entire lot of the Vice Captains are completely open for utilization, so everyone could take one of those guys at least. Chad vs. Kira would be quite interesting, him beasting through even with his shield weighed down would be nice.

I spend way too much time thinking of lulzy matchups.

Tousen's ability isn't so bad when you consider that it's effectiveness is likely dependent on the reiatsu of his opponent. It probably wouldn't have knocked Ishida out if he wasn't drained and weak from his fight. There's no way of knowing of what effect it'd have in that case but I assume it's causes vertigo. Of course, that might not stop the lesser three from succumbing to him.

The group's opposition will likely range from mooks, co-ordinated groups of shinigami, lieutenants and the occasional captain. Might have some Mayuri experiments involved and the Onmitsukido but that depends on how the plot works out.
