"You would interfere? This may take some effort."
The orb he had been charging was launched at the spear, while at the same time he stomped his foot and drew his sword.
The sphere of light hit the spear, petrifying it in mid air, before slowly breaking it down. As this was happening, a pillar of earth erupted from under the armored foe, throwing him up into the air. Blaze assumed he was some sort of paladin, judging from the blessings he carried.
'One hostile threat disabled. One projectile disabled.'
The sword clanged as it met with the specimens claw.
"Impressive. Specimens mutated limb has increased strength and durability. The specimen himself is using an unknown form of energy to bolster physical characteristics."
The specimen was gritting his teeth now. Hmmm. Canines appear to be much sharper. The eyes also appear to have been changed. An advanced mutagenic seal, with strength enhancing properties, not to mention the increased reaction time. The odds of a normal human being able to intercept his blade were rather slim, afterall.
Such a comprehensive change. He wondered if it had created new organs in the specimen, to create or manage this energy it was using.
The geomancer's golem was approaching. Those walls would be troublesome. He wanted to take the specimen and run, but they had to go and make things more difficult.
"Bolt."
Lightning danced across his blade, electrocuting the specimen. It began to scream, but still stayed up and continued to grip the blade, claw tightening even more. That didn't make sense. The shock should have knocked it away, or forced it to release-
Then his sword crunched in two, and that hand reached for his face!
"Guster!" This time his spell had the desired effect, the wind knocking the specimen back out of close range.
It appeared he might be in for more of a fight than he thought.
