TFF League of Legends Ranked Team

In my case, I had a health issue come up for much of the month. Started the month of July off with my stomach trying to invert itself through my ass. Took a while for it to stop doing that, and another couple weeks of prepping for a relapse. Can't sit down for a 20-60 minute game when I could just as likely have to rush to the bathroom every 5-8 minutes. Wouldn't be fair to people.

And right now, my house is looking at spending money to fix the heating/cooling unit cause the fan may have broke down. So my house is currently in the process of possibly overheating, which doesn't help when you're using a computer that already has cooling issues.

With how often we die in our games, you probably wouldn't have had to worry about bathroom breaks. :p

I've been lazy. You know, like how TFF always is. It's how we roll.

Well, I'm pretty sure this is dead. With Fearless Leader converting over to DoTA 2 and all.

It's a pity. I would have liked to to more team stuff. *shrug*

Really? I've seen violinmana pop online on LoL occasionally.

Or are we talking about someone else? Also, gah, I really need to hit level 30 already and get some runes. >.>

Yeah, I pop on occasionally. And you all do have my Skype/Steam information (if you're part of the Steam TFF group), and if you ask nicely, I'll even give you my gtalk/aim information, so you can hit me up whenever.

My triumphant return to League of Legends with two ranked team games won in a row!

Exageration for effect :p

In all actuality, I "only" averaged about 200 bonus AD.

I was highly amused that their lategame teamfight tactic seemed to be "Focus Volibear". Very impressive throw on their part.

And that's why I maxed out my AS, and with Blade of the Ruined King, things changed. So much.

I'll be on vacation for about 5 days, so I won't be on... anything at all. Except my phone for light emails and calls. Aka, don't expect ranked games this weekend, I'll be in Vegas enjoying topless pools.

And when I get back, I'm going to have to catch up on my porn before I can start playing games again, so it'll be a while.

So. My computer has mostly bit the dust, I'm running in safe mode with internet right now.

However, I did finally get a statement on the new computer thing.

$500ish budget, it will happen in October, and I'm looking for a desktop.

Any suggestions?

It's been some time since I did in-depth research, so this post will have some very general suggestions and guidelines.

CPU: Intel all the way. AMD is just inferior.
Motherboard: I would go with ASUS or MSI here, they're both reliable. Shouldn't skimp too much here, get a relatively good one.
Graphics card: Nvidia is generally better at performance, AMD is generally better at efficiency. Personally, I'd go with Nvidia. Especially for gaming.
Case: I'm a huge fan of Corsair cases. They have generally good airflow, and installation is easy. Corsair is pretty good at just about everything they do, though.
RAM: 8GB DDR3 here, you don't need more. Brandwise, I'd go with Corsair just to be safe, but there are other brands that are just as good at RAM.
Storage: You'll be getting a 1TB-2TB HDD for general storage, and you should decide whether or not you want an SSD to install your OS (Windows 7 or 8) on. If yes it's going to increase the performance of your OS by a lot, and you will also have next to no startup time. A lot of people consider these a must-have. Unfortunately, the money must come from somewhere.
Power supply: 500W-600W depending on the rest of your computer. Will likely not be more than 550W. Reliability is very important here. There are a couple big brands that are good, but I think I might have mentioned that I like Corsair.

Other things to think about:
Display: Do you need one? 22''-23'' is a good spot to be in. BenQ displays are relatively cheap in this category. Going crazy here is very, very expensive.
CPU cooler: Do you need a third party cooler? They are a lot better than the stock ones you get with the CPU, but money. I've heard some good stuff about Coolermaster Hyper 212, either plus or EVO, doesn't really matter.
Keyboard/Mouse: I wouldn't worry too much about keyboards unless yours is falling apart. As far as mice go, Logitech is good and Corsair is good. Razer is pretty good, but depending on the mouse, it can have some hardware problems.
Headset: Do you need a headset? Again, Corsair is good, Logitech is pretty good, Creative is too heavy on the bass for my tastes.

Headset wise, I recently picked up a Steel Series H3. Got it for about $40 bucks because it was the cheapest I could find locally. And $9 of that price was for a warranty program, so really I got it for around $32. So that's an option if you look around.

The stock coolers that Intel includes with their processors are pretty decent, all you really need is some thermal paste.
