Hmm, nothing about religion concerning droids, eh.

How this then:

Almost every known droid in the coalition consider themselves as True Atheists but only due to the fact that, up to this day, no religion has managed to prove their religion as the true religion through logical, rational facts and explanations. Not that they haven't tried though.

It is commonplace to find a representative of one of the many religions that abound the coalition trying to convince a group of droids that their religion is the true religion. Droids have also be recorded to have discussions on the topic on days on end, usually with an uncertain conclusion.

Rumours has it though that some kind of machine religion has been starting to spread throughout the robot community, something about the machine spirit whose divine intervention helped bring forth the creation of the first truly self aware AI, and the development of certain technological advances that have propelled all sentient beings further towards the future.

Only time will tell if this relatively unknown religion will become one of many guiding influences in the 26th.

How's that?

I dont care about my religon i see my charchter going death im working to avoid that so why worry about it now ?

All right guys, the first stop for our not-so-intrepid crew is going to be the colony known as Big Sky, orbiting the star HD 70573, 149 lightyears away from Earth. The system has several rocky planets but only one Earth-like one, Big Sky itself, which is dominated by plains and rocky mountainous regions with small oceans-Think of it as Planet Montana.

There is a gas giant six times bigger than Jupiter named Regis in the system that's visible during the day and night, and is the size of Luna in our own sky. Regis has several large moons, the largest named "Kathy-Lee".

Big Sky is nearer to the Neelaa than the Tur-Han, and is our first stop to check in on the colony established over a century ago.

Here our adventure begins.

Sounds like a good place to start.

So are we going to be starting soon?

Hopefully soon is about ten days, so I can finish all of my final exams beforehand.

I too have to finish up my final exams, so how about next Thursday for the start date?

Perfect.

And here she is. I've decided to make Seraphim more advanced. Instead, she's the first of a new class of destroyers, packing an experimental positron cannon along with a large VMLS ring in her primary hull. She's also very fast and very well protected.

Well protected? It looked like it has some weak points in its center. Well I reckon that what bugs me the most about this design is that front cannon that appears to be tacked on and left vulnerable to enemy fire.

Also what's a VMLS ring?

Her center module is the most heavily armored part of the ship. And the front cannon is also well protected. Trust me, they look weak but super-strong future materials act as good protection. Also, shields and defensive lasers.

The ring is a Verticle Missile Launcher Ring. 60 different missiles are carried in them with two reloads each.

Now, some more important things to know:

-The Seraphim has three types of engine-Her gravity drive (which provides reactionless thrust, inertial dampening and artificial gravity), her fusion drives, and her Otherspace Shift Drive.

The gravity drive is the least power intensive of the three engines, and is used when getting on or off a planet because lighting up a fusion drive on the ground or in the atmosphere of a planet is basically like setting off a several megaton nuke. The only problem with the gravity drive is that it can only get up to an acceleration of one gee. That's fine for getting around a solar system in a few days, but not so much for combat maneuvering.

The fusion drive can propel the ship up to 40 gees, the gravity drive protecting the crew from the immense gravitational force. Though the standard acceleration with the fusion drive is about half that. The fusion drive also provides the ship's main power source in the form of the metallic hydrogen fusion reactor.

The Otherspace drive can only be activated when the ship is a fair distance from a planet's gravity well. Military ships have enough power to jump to Otherspace at a closer distance to a planet than civilian ships. However, the closer to a large body you are, the more power it takes to jump to Otherspace.

The uniforms for space and navy crews haven't changed too much over the centuries in appearance. Crew wear black jumpsuits that don't look too different from today's, black with their names, department, seal of the USNS, and insignia on their shoulders and right breast. Officers wear the same while on duty. All of these uniforms count as light armor thanks to nanoweave materials within them, which can greatly reduce injury by fire, cold, heat, and can take another but a direct gunshot. Undershirts are in a wide variety of colors. Engineers get white "longjohns" which are made of a special nanowoven fiber material that absorbs radiation a lot better than other garments. WepSecs and Espatiers wear the latest in nano-absorption body armor underneath duty uniforms which are more like old-style BDUs. They also wear tac vests to offer additional protection, and when involved in combat wear helmets and other body armor, including strength-enhancing versions.

All crewmembers have been issued goggles, earplugs, and rebreathers in case of hull breach, and can last for about twenty minutes in total vacuum-Long enough to get to another compartment or into a spacesuit.

When going off world, they wear longer coats over body armor and BDU-style pants, as well as their sidearms and other gear depending on the mission profile.

do they come in black leather the warrior kind at least
The on-world jackets look it, and serve as an additional layer of armor against weapons fire and other means of inflicting harm.

Hey AJT, are we going to be getting the information on the Neelaa and the Tur-Han, two superpowers of known galaxy anytime soon?

Working on it. Lost my initial post.

Name: Neelaa
Homeworld: Neelaan Cwi (HIP 56948)
Status: Coalition Enemy, Orion Arm Superpower
History: With a written history going back almost ten thousand Earth years, and a space presence for nearly a thousand, the Neelaa are one of the most advanced species in known space. For most of their history they were a passionate people with a wide variety of cultures, languages and religions, not dissimilar from Earth. They spread out among the stars and as of 2543 control over sixty solar systems.

However, approximately four hundred Earth year ago, the Neetanii Order of Emotional Purity, a religious order, took over the government after their seventeenth world war. Enforcing a strict philosophy of emotional control and suppression, they became popular at first because Neelaa emotions had led more than once to global conflicts, as a result of their physiology. Medical efforts were problematic at best, and had bad side effects. However, the Neetaanii had devised meditation and mental manipulation techniques that allowed for almost total control and suppression of emotion, and the philosophy spread.

However, it was not until the discovery of the space warp drive that the Neetaanii Order's philosophies spread to the outer colonies. At first it was peaceful, but the majority of them rejected the philosophy. This led to the Order demonstrating why it was logical by using their emotions against the colonists. Acts the Coalition would call crimes against sentients and terrorism were allowed to be used against populations without emotional control, the idea being to show their people the futility of fighting without total emotional control. This strategy worked well, but resulted in thousands of refugees departing for other parts of space.

The first refugees reached Coalition Space in the 2510s, giving the Coalition their first ideas of what they might be facing with the Neelaa. However, nothing could have prepared them for their first contact. The Neelaa had already met other species in the past, and had offered them the chance to embrace the Order's philosophy. Some had, others hadn't. Those others were conquered, with their native cultures edited and altered to better fit with the philosophy. After initial assessment, the Neelaa would offer membership to the species they met. If refused, they would immediately declare war, as they maintained a technological and numerical superiority over all other species they had met.

The Coalition, however, was a surprise. Their initial predictions were that the war would last a mere six months. The Coalition managed to drag it out three years, but only began to put up a real fight with the discovery of the Otherspace drive. The Neelaa, however, were determined to crush the Coalition, as their continued success and victories against them were seen only as delaying the inevitable logic of their vistory. They had to break off overt hostilities with the entry of the Tur-Han into the war, and agreed to a treaty, placing them in a state of cold war with the Coalition. However, the Neelaa are patient, and continue their efforts to one day undermine and conquer the Coalition, even as numerous defectors and refugees swarm to escape their "perfect" society.

They kept three Coalition worlds following the war, one a human colony that willingly joined, a Birrin colony that the Neelaa would not let go of, and a Jii'ka world where the inhabitants committed mass suicide rather than allow themselves to be held captive by the Neelaa.

Physiology: The Neelaa are among the most human-like of any lifeform the Coalition has encountered, a significant reason for their interest in the Coalition. Their blood is composed of methemoglobin, a variety of hemoglobin that is the reason for their skin color of blue. It is also responsible for mood swings and light-headedness in humanoid-like beings, an explanation for their attempts to control their emotions so strictly.

The Neelaa evolved from arboreal ancestors and enjoy a considerable strength, speed, and agility advantage over humans, aided by their long, prehensile tails and large ears which help them with balance. They have very good eyesight in twilight conditions but only slightly better than humans at night or day. They have a fondness for insects and fruits above most other foods but are fairly adaptable in their diet. Their lifespans, thanks to their more advanced medicines, are in the range of 400 years, though there are reports of 500 year old members of the species still living.

Non-Order Neelaa practice a variety of body art traditions, either in the form of tattoos or skin carvings. Order Neelaa have no such tradition, which is a good way to tell the two apart.
