Idea smacked me upside the head and I had to post it. This would be after the Fate scenario.
A flash of light as Saber rose out of the summoning circle. "Are you my master?" Opening her eyes she was surprised to see a wide eyed Rin staring at her. Rin opened her mouth then closed it, she tried again with the same results and finally pointed behind Saber. Turning around Saber noticed a rusty spork, three matchsticks, a role of toilet paper, and what was at second glance a sheared off role of tape scattered on the floor. After which her eyes focused on the form of Shirou with his back turned fumbling with something.
Shirou spun around holding what seemed to be a armadilo with a splint taped to its leg." I told you duct tape fixes everything!" was his triumphant exclamation.

You're assuming that he's made a mistake. He could very well be referring to several ducks being covered in glue, tethered together, and used in a similar manner to the aforementioned adhesive cloth mesh.
