Nah, if Ranma, Yu Yu Hakusho and Tenchi Muyo have a decent following even today, Naruto should be fine over the next couple of years.
But then again, 2 of those series listed were better than Naruto (IMO) and had the 90's nostalgia factor working for them, so who knows...?
Which of three do you think was better than Naruto? I'm partial to Tenchi and Hakusho was a fave of mine back in the day.
Haha, same here! I used to run home after school to watch the shit outta Hakusho (remember, this was before the days of internet streaming/torrents). YYH was just so damn action packed and shonen-y that I loved it. And Yusuke was everything I wanted in a protagonist. Unlike the current shonen titles. Out of the big 3 today, Luffy's the only one I like without reservation.
As for Tenchi? Well...the fanservice may have played a
small part in me liking it :snigger:
And it's not like Ranma is bad, but I got into it waaay later than the other 2, so the effect isn't as pronounced.
To be honest, after almost 13 years of reading Naruto, I'm glad we're winding down. The series peaked a long time ago and it felt like even the author just said "fuck it" after a certain point.
