RE: The Four Knights of Beer - 2014 Meetup

Day 7... time to Pack it up!

Thank you based Mosh and your awesome hosting skills. Would not trade any moment and the diet being Dead on Arrival for anything in the world.
Regards to the Mosh family for the hospitality, delicious meals and take away. :snigger:

Kudos to the minion for putting up with and joining in on the shenanigans.

Once again, Sir, thank you for letting us join your house, family and daily life for a week. (n.n)\

Meinos - the gauntlet has been thrown down ... . Do you think you can match previous excursions with Raafest 3: The Italian Job?

If I had a decent vehicle and you guys were willing to fly to either Detroit Metro or Lansing Capitol City I would take you to Marshall to Dark Horse Brewery, Birmingham to Griffin Claw, Kalamazoo to Bell's, Grand Rapids for Founders, Brewery Vivant, Schomz, and possibly Holland to New Holland Brewery/Distillery. And maybe Battle Creek to Arcadia and Ypsilanti to Arbor Brewing.

Gentlemen, it is that time again.

On Tuesday the 10th of November, a Mexican, a Romanian and an Englishman will descend upon Milan. There will be gifts that make people smile and roll their eyes.

Possibly also trigger them.

As I post this nonsense, Eagle is in New York, awaiting his final inbound leg.

Mosh and I are waiting for the time to arrive at our local airports.

And if all goes to plan, GenocideHeart will join us for a day of shenanigans and experience the glory that is Stoke Red.

'On Tuesday the 10th of November, a Mexican, a Romanian and an Englishman will descend upon Milan.'

Sounds like the opening of a bad joke. Have fun, you crazy kids, you!

Make sure to take plenty of embaressing photos to share with your fellow TFFer's.

It's no worse a joke than "an Italian, a Mexican and a Romanian walk into a beer festival"

Nice Pics!

I feel the urge to ask if you will dress up in a costume and get a picture taken.

Groucho Marx glasses, nose & mustache?

Maybe just some props or doing a scene where you are 'beating up' one another.

Holding a tie which chokes another? A comical face?

Wrestling headlock?

Maybe a pic where the others look like they are passed out drunk with one 'The CHAMP!' standing with one leg on a chair & holding a beer?

Unless you do something like a police mugshot.. with a small sign of your name and some silly thing to be guilty of.

:p

I wish all you good humor and the best of times!

Have landed in Frankfurt and eaten a sausage. It is a Tuesday, after all.

Currently chilling with a coffee right now? Black, no sugar, in case you're wondering. Got to prepare myself for real espresso.

Day 1: Meinos suffered parking pains to Pick us up at Malpensa and Linate airports. After setting up home base in Milan, we did a bit of walking around the Piaza del Duomo and had a nice aperitivo at Camparino (the birthplace of the Campari).

PS: the real deal Espresso is something to respect

Day 2: After some walking around Vicenza, we had pitstop in Marola on our way to Bologna. Here we awaited patiently for the wild and elusive Genocide Heart, where we found out that Italy has it's own version of Silent Hill.

Day 3: after a bit of shopping in Bologna, Meinos drove us to Firenze. Lots of waking and enjoying the Fiorentine sights and sounds... and approximately 2kg of bloody meat! Followed by a couple of rounds at Brew Dogs Firenze.

Day 4: We stormed the Castello di Monteriggioni, great view of local wine and olive country, then a short drive to Siena, city on the hill. Lots of great architecture and great frescoes at the musueums, just gotta power through the up-down hills.

Day 5: after a bit of road tripping, we arrived in Pescasserolli, Meinos' old stomping grounds and got a taste of some good food and drinks. After a night cap at Bar dell' Orso, I got Mosh adicted to Ore Monogatari (just as planned!)

Day 6: We had a long drive but we finally got to Avellino where Mr. Kaen Sr treated us to a veritable feast at Ristorante dell' Ulivo. Afterwards we had a nice drive down to Sorrento. Meinos is threatening us with the best pizza in the world (in Napoli)... but I think our stomachs (and souls) are begging for a break after the feast earlier.

Day 7: Dug around the excavation site in Ercolano (you probably haven't heard of it). Saw some cool architecture that was hidden by the erruption of Vesuvius that took Pompeii. After that we got a taste of real Napoli pizza, THE HYPE IS REAL; followed by a leisure stroll around Napoli. We closed out the night with some delicious kebabs and gelatto in Sorrento.

I have returned safely, and with a vague idea for some fresh content for an existing fic.

Lost some tequila in transit, but that's a small price to pay for a great time in Italy.

Sorry, Eagle, but these just keep getting better and better.

NOOOOO! NOT THE TEQUILA! OH DEAR GOD, THE HUMANITY!

Glad to hear it was a blast. Now, where are the embarrassing pics? We need them to blackmail all of you for reasons... yeah, reasons.

Day 8: We hopped on a boat and floated over to the Limoncello capital of Italy, the Isle of Capri. Once there we jumped on a short bus (snicker) and rode up to Anacapri, where ge got the chance to head up to Monte Solaro via chair lift. Later that night we made our pilgrimage to ROMA.

Day 9: Rome and the Vatican. We started out our day by dropping by the Piazza San Pietro where El Papito was holding mass and all the faithful were hyped when the hypemen name dropped their crew/country. Afterwards, we hopped on the metro and went around town like proper tourists: checked out the Pantheon, took a sip out of the Fount of Trevi and Water City, followed by a triumphant stroll across the Foro di Traiano and the Colloseum, closing out with a victory lap around the Circo Massimo and one last gelato for the road.

@da_fox: gonna need some a few days to sort out pics.

At the moment, I'm currently waiting to board the last leg of my flight home.

Day 10: due to technical difficulties, I had the team wake up early to drop me off at the airport. Meinos was cool enough to see us off at the Roma Train Terminal. Once at the airport I had to re-pack a bit (bought waaay too many trinkets) and then ran to my terminal.

@Mosh: this time I was the one racing to catch his flight. Thanks for the presents, recommendations and feedback.

@Raa: thank you for the "Injustice for all", sorry if cramped your style and thanks again for the ongoing support.

@Meinos: Thank You for your time, attentions, efforts and choice words for those drivers along the Tangenziales. You've raised the bar another notch for the RaaFests.

Hope to see you three next year for Once Upon a Time in México.

@Eagle I have no clear memories of any style being cramped.

Except for maybe my habit of striding off into the distance.
