The Grafting Game!

Okay, as always, the rules are simple. One poster will propose the name of a person or creature (has to be at least somewhat self-sufficient, even if following a program - so only relatively advanced artificial beings qualify) from any one fandom, and then propose another fandom.

The next posters have to come up with a way to more or less believably insert or 'graft' him/her/it/omgtentacles into the proposed fandom. Then they can suggest a character and a series themselves.

I'll start with my suggestion, a very easy one.

Character: Dread Pirate Roberts

Series: One Piece

Have fun!

Please re-read the rules in the first post.

Seriously, you're my friend, but you really need to learn to pay attention...

After almost a millenium of existence, the D. Read Pirate Roberts and its legend slowy change, because only the strongest of those that survived the cataclysm - and their offspring - are worthy of bearing the title that marks them as contestants for the One Piece - which is, in fact, the legacy of the Dread Pirate itself.

When Shinji 'recreates' the human race after Third Impact, he plays god and edits history to remove the entire sequence of Angel attacks from history. The damage caused by Second Impact, including the significant losses get rewritten as caused by the Reconstruction War (part of the Gundam Seed history) which just came to an end as of the Third Impact (which no one knows about). So Shinji is 14 and it's C.E. 9.

Shinji more or less happily lives out the next few decades in relative obscurity as a professional cello player. He has a son, Ulen, who goes into medical research and moves out to the new space colonies. However, in C.E. 55 Ulen and his wife are killed in a terrorist attack upon Mendel Colony. Shinji mourns but when Mendel colony is abandoned due to the biohazard incident in C.E. 68 he receives some recovered documentation is startled to discover that apparently he had grandchildren and begins to search for them although he is limited in resources. Along the way he begins to discover the nature of Ulen's research which naturally reminds him all too much of Gendo's work.

It takes three years for Shinji to locate one of his grandchildren and he is on a shuttle to Heliopolis when it is destroyed by the second ZAFT attack. Shinji, although by now an old man (seventy-six years old) is so furious that he unconciously manages to modify reality again, creating Unit-01 around himself (which destroys the shuttle and its other occupants) and goes after the ZAFT ships, which barely escape from him. The Archangel manages to recover Unit-01 but when the entry plug they find a fourteen year old Shinji who has no memory of anything since Third Impact (he's suppressing them out of guilt at killing everyone on the shuttle). Amusing, a medical testing discovers his relationship to Kira which should surprise everyone involved since he appears to be two years younger than his grandson...

It probably wouldn't be that hard to write "Dread Pirate Roberts" as another alias of "Red-haired Shanks" or any other legendary pirate. I suggest Shanks because he's hardly ever been seen, just mentioned a couple times, and yet he has such a colossal bounty on his head. Especially since he lost an arm so easily when if he's really as great as he's been implied, that sea creature should have been basically nothing to him, and he should have been able to rescue Luffy completely without injury.

Alternately, perhaps Shanks is just the real name of the most recent Roberts, who has been retired for decades and lives like a king somewhere.

Suggestion:

Son Goku (12 year-old version, volume one of Dragon Ball manga era), but a really low-powered one

into

Gold Digger comic, by Fred Perry

This is probably also pretty easy.

the only problem with D-man's idea is that unit 01 is a bit too tall to fit anywhere on the archangel. And I doubt it can move in space, too. What with the lack of, you know, any kind of propulsion.

Still, 14yo Grandfather-of-Kira xD *snerk*

Drakensis, you are one scarily brilliant TFFgoer indeed :>

Still, post 3rd impact EVA01 has the shiny wings, right? If they can end the world as we know it and recreate it as Shinji deems fit, they should let him move in space.

I can tell you how it'll end. With Kintaro having a Claymore harem. And probably owning Awakened Ones bare-handed.

Because he's just that damn badass. :snigger:

Try this one:

Character: Elektra Natchios (Marvel)

Series: Naruto, of course

:snigger:

The Hand discovers a portal into the Naruto-verse and of course they send in their best assassin to get the lay of the land and mark out potential targets for abduction and indoctrination.

Try this one:

Character: Sho Fukamachi (Guyver)

Series: Gundam (any continuity)

Depends on which Sho. Armor-less? Guyver? Guyver Gigantic? It makes a big difference, since the Gigantic can conceivably take on a Gundam and win...

Personally, I was thinking he got put into suspended animation with Guyver Gigantic, and woke up during the One Year War.

I know next to nothing about FMP, but I'll give this a shot.

[Enemy] seems to acquired new technology that seems almost magical in nature--well, that's because it is. The knowledge of magic among non-magical folk is limited to the really higher-up, only to be revealed on a "need-to-know" basis. Cue one Negi Springfield receiving an assignment--to go to Japan and become a "specialist" of sorts.

Negi's cover story is that he's some relative of [character]. The story would be partly adventure, and partly humor, with Negi goofing up and revealing his nature, and Sagara/etc. having to cover up for him. Also, Chamo getting pummeled/stepped on/tossed a lot. With cameras/etc., a talking ermine is strictly a liability!

Skuld (OMG)

Honestly no idea on that one, so instead I'll try to get this moving again by proposing one:

Character: Shishio Makoto (Rurouni Kenshin)

Series: Gundam (any one)

Skuld has been sent to investigate time disturbance centered around a little village. Cue Hanyuu going around in circle when she saw just WHO is the latest student in Hinamizawa :p

"Hauuuuuu~~~~~"

Mine :

Sosuke Sagara in the Berserk universe, or Guts in the FMP universe. Both being mercenary at heart, I wonder how much their presence would muck up their respective 'verse.

Good gods, Luca... no, just, no. Give him a year or two and he'll have a significant powerbase, give him a handful of years more and he has half of the world in his grasp and THEN it will take EVERY SINGLE CLAYMORE teaming up on him to kill him.

EVERY
SINGLE
ONE.

Because Luca Blight, if anything, is damn near immortal, unkillable and the definition of a walking tank. -50% damage, my ass.

as for my graft:

Ranma Saotome and Ryoga Hibiki into Suikoden II (maybe instead of Riou|Jowy?)

Dude, it's your birthday! You're older now! Yayyyyyy!

And just so I can claim to be on topic...

Ranma and Ryoga? How would that work? They're not friends. Ryoga would've just left Ranma rot in that jail... not that he would've gotten caught in the first place... Hm... you know, that might be interesting...

Back on topic.

Heh, now THERE'd be something to see. Imagine the Air Gear gang pulling their usual gravity- and death-defying stunts... while spray-painting stuff.

It'd own hardcore.

My idea:

Character: Gabrie Celeste (tri-Ace games)

As Aizen succeeds in opening the gate leading to what he believes is the King, it is revealed that he actually found the secret back door of the Cave of Trials.

Cue OMGWTF battle where even if Aizen wins he loses, as defeating Gabrie Celeste will free Iselia Queen.

Seiritei, Hueco Mundo, Earth they are all doomed. . .

If it's the character I think you mean what about using the Gabriel Celeste from Radiata Stories. It would be crack but having the Bleach cast run from him afraid of being raped would be horrible hilarious... Wait...

He's Ichigo's Zanpakto, and he has to battle him while going for Bankai.

EDIT:

Character: Jack from Radiata stories

Series: Legend of Zelda
