The Incredible Hercules

So like the topic description says... will it?

I ask this cause recent trawling of ATT (that's green ronin's atomic think tank if ya wanna know) Amaedus Cho and Herc have been glowingly mentioned, and as I like the guys haveing the discussion it caught my interest. and I ask cause as of late DC and Marvel have both had me utterly hateing what they've been doing.

of also note, anyone here have a timeframe for when Cho showed up? I ask cause I figured that I'd start with tbp "Incredible Hercules Wol.1: Against the World" and have no idea if that'll get me where Cho was introduced or not.

That should tell you all you need to know about Incredible Hercules.

I haven't read all TOO much of it, but from what I've read, it's very good. It's really lighthearted fare and just hilarious to read, along with decent to great art. What else do you really want from comics? Plus you get to see Thor dress up as Herc and Herc dress up like Thor and then fight each other. And then there's the eating contest between Fat Cobra, Thor, and the fat Viking from Thor... Then there's the hilarious sound effects...

And I know for a fact that Cho was introduced before World War Hulk. I don't know exactly when it was, but it was before then, and so most likely before Planet Hulk. Incredible Hercules is one of his first starring comics with a main character like role though.

I'll give this a definite thumbs up though.

well from the synopsis of "Against the World" it has Cho planning on destroying SHIELD(though considering the time frame, this is hardly a BAD thing) and as far as I can detirme that's the first tpb of the series.

but yeah after hearing some glowing things about IH as well as the Iron Fist series/relauch so I'm cautiously optomistic. but well the Civil War crap has really soured me on Marvel(kinda how the freaking space zombies is killing any possitive feelings I had for DC).

New Iron Fist is Ridiculously Awesome. If you haven't read it, you should feel bad. And then go read it like NOW.

Also, what's wrong with Blackest Night? It's pretty awesome to me. What almost killed it for me was Countdown and Final Crisis.

Identity Crisis started it, then Countdown and Final Crisis REALLY irked me. completely personal but I loved Blue Beetle II and Ted Kord, so Ted getting killed off and then a snot nosed kid takeing up the mantel thanks to some alien tech he stumbles across(though I've heard and seen some good things from his series in general) and now Ted back as a space zombie, well needless to say I'm not at all thrilled.

thank's Vog. I have heard some good things about Cho and amuseingly enough how he's being groomed to become Athena's champion. so I'm kinda interested in it.

and about the new Iron Fist reboot, yes I do feel a lil ashamed but honestly it's been years since I paid active attention to either DC or Marvel and then Civil War came along and I couldn't pay attention to marvel without feeling rage anymore. even though Iron Fist had been one of my favorite of the marvel street level set. used to avidly collect heroes for hire staring him and luke cage.

Well, I don't know too much about the Ted, but the new Blue Beetle had a good run, and even if it only lasted 50 something issues, it was a fun ride. The Reach arc in particular was one of the best comics I've ever read.

The New Booster Gold is something you should also definitely check out as well if you want to start getting back into DC. It even brings Ted back for a bit. Booster Gold is crazy awesome.
