This:

Ichigo is constantly outputting the maximum amount of spirit energy that his physical body is capable of handling. This is the amount of power that totally eclipses Ishida's own. This is the power equivalent to a veteran Second Seated Officer. The power that you would need to actually shear through and hurt Kenpachi.

This is Ichigo's power in it's absolute lowest possible state of existence.

Ichigo says that his power only has two settings: off and on. But Ishida knows better. There's no such than as "all max all the time," which means that the only possible explanation is that this is actually Ichigo's 'off' state.

Think about that. This is Ichigo when he's NOT using his power.

Ichigo has unconsciously, reflexively blocked off his real power to it's lowest possible state, and only when placed into situations of real pressure can those blocks be lifted. Superficially, Ichigo seems like an abnormally powerful individual. But that is not actually the case. He is clearly being pitched, canonically mind you, as a sleeping titan, possessing a vast ocean of spiritual power that is being bottled up and suppressed out of sheer reflex. That bottled up, suppressed state is "Ichigo as he normally is."

So. We can clearly establish that Ichigo is a slumbering monster. But the question the becomes, just how much power does he have?

Well. . .

Let's look at the facts.

During his initial transformation into a Demi-Hollow, Ichigo was capable of mustering enough strength to physically break Tessai's strongest binding, a combo bind that is actually several different high tier binding spells layered on top of each other in rapid succession, intended to totally and completely annhilate the target. Tessai, we now know, was the head of the Kido Corp, which puts him in the nebulous realm of individuals who seem to possess Captain level strength, though we have yet to receive actual confirmation of his Captainhood.

So, for our first fact: on pure instinct, Ichigo nulled the strongest attack a kido master of arguably Captain tier strength was capable of mustering.

Also, it should be noted as an aside: Tessai and Urahara were absolutely not under any circumstances going to take any chances with Ichigo's Hollow form. As soon as he began to show signs of having failed, Tessai immediately moved in for the kill. And not just kill, either, but overkill: his technique is explicitly noted in canon data as being a move that literally dissolves the target down into it's constituent spirit particles. In practical terms, getting hit with this literally causes you to vaporize.

Why would they be so concerned about Ichigo becoming a Hollow? Urahara is a Captain. Tessai is either a Captain or the next best thing to one. The kids are clearly Seated Officer level, and arguably Second Seat. They should have nothing to fear from even a monster like an Adjuchas, let alone a singular Hollow.

So why worry so much about Ichigo's transformation?

Perhaps it's because both Tessai and Urahara knew quite well just how powerful Ichigo actually was, and believed that Ichigo, if allowed to transform into a Hollow, would become the sort of monster that even they could not stop or contain. And what's more, this fear is clearly panned out. Even as a Demi-Hollow, Ichigo was capable of easily shrugging off Tessai's strongest attack.

Convinced yet? Because that's not even the half of it. We still have yet to talk about. . .

So that would be why his nonboosted body is so strong in the last fight with Aizen? He needed his body to be able to handle finally going max output?

Dear God, the suspense is killing me.
I fell asleep. My bad. I'll get to that after lunch.
My God, Raine.

Either it takes you a really long time to eat, you have enormous three day lunches or you forgot.

I hope to God it's the last one...

We get a decent measuring rod of Ichigo's true power in Soul Society. Specifically, at the execution site. More specifically, when he first arrives.

For my first trick, I will casually stop the Kikyo, the true form of the Execution Spear, by putting the flat of my blade in it's way and standing with my back turned:

How big of a deal is that? Well. . .

The Soukyoku's power is equivalent to that of a million Zanpakutos, quote. Ichigo stopped it with a single Zanpakuto, quote.

Ichigo just stopped the fist of God with his pinkie. You know, like those Old Masters do when the Big Bad manages to get them to directly intervene, and they let Mr. Villain know exactly how fucked they are, and exactly why they earned the name 'Master.'

Do note that he did not do this with extreme effort. He stood in it's way, and had his Zanpakuto crossed over his shoulder. He's not even fucking paying attention. You could not get more effortless and casual than this. This is clearly demonstrated by the Captains and Second Seats collectively shitting themselves.

BUT IT GETS BETTER.

How? Well. . .

Ichigo breaks the Execution Block that Rukia is tied to.

Do note that Rukia tries to interrupt him and tell him something, but he doesn't listen, and keeps going on. What was she going to tell him?

Well, as it turns out, she was trying to tell him that the Execution Block is indestructible, and cannot be broken. We find this out later.

Naturally, this causes everybody to panic. Well, as much as any of the Captains ever actually panic. Yamamoto opens one eye and his pupil dilates, but that's the equivalent of a nuclear bomb going off for anyone else.

That. Is a damn good question. And answer it is the job of this theory.

What is Ichigo? My answer is that he's an individual who, as far as the superpower lottery is concerned, won God. He is sitting on enough raw power that he can casually stop the destructive force of a million Zanpakutos just by standing in it's way. He has enough raw power than he can blow something that's indestructible the fuck up by hitting it once.

That's Ichigo. Is he a cosmic horror? No. He does not have tentacles, nor is he all F'TAGAN. But as far as strength is concerned, he could certainly substitute as one. His dialing all of the taps to "off" still makes him passively the equal of a Second Seated Officer of the Court Guard Squad. His "on" lets him do all of the things I've just sauced above. And his "absolutely no holding back whatsoever?"

Ha, well. Go read Deicide.

Welcome home, Grasshopper. I see you have begun to understand just how special you really are.

And that is my theory. In a nutshell.

Great theory and has more support from cannon, the example that comes to mind is just before Deicide:

Isshin trampled Aizen "Mr sorry LOLNO I'm just that awesome" before the Hogyoku transformed him in cryzalid in that state Aizen LOLNOed Isshin, Urahara and Yoruichi and they couldn't feel his power.

At the time Ichigo"My power it's defined by how Badass I'm being" was so pussy that his inner world was flooded, He still was the only one capable to feel Aizen and in words from Isshin "just someone in his dimension can feel his power"

So my two cents before asking if we can hope for more of this fic? No pressure but the lack of Badass Ichigo in fanon just get in my soul

Problem with that theory is that Tatsuki could sense Aizen's power too. Only the Shinigami (and thus the non-living characters) were unable to sense him so at that point I'd say Ichigo could feel his power because he was a human.

Aizen says that if he chooses Humans and Shinigamis can feel him if He "Lowers himself to a level were they can interfere"

If you ask me, Tatsuki could feel Aizen because He was playing and to show us a glimpse of how powerfull Ichigo was in his GodMode (she couldn't feel him)...

Or Tatsuki it's just that powerfull :hmm: don't blame the messenger for the inconsistencies of the author... Also I have to re-read if Aizen says something to the humans or not?
