Nasuverse The Netherworld Calls

#1
After seeing that thread in the AMG section, my mind went back to the first few minutes of playing Disgaea 2, the summoning of Zenon, and somehow the whole 'summoning' business brought me to FSN. Don't ask me how my mind works. I can't figure it out either.

Anyway, here's the idea. What if you could actually summon overlords from the Netherworld to fight for you in the Holy Grail War?

End of idea. I'll need some more coffee before I can develop that further. Be back later.

Problem is that unless the person doing the summoning is one of the 27 Ancestors or Arc, their going to pretty much die from mana drain of the Overlord flairing their aura much less using one of their techniques.

True. Now how do we get around this? By not being too technical is one way. Or perhaps...here's an idea. As you might know, mana sharing is possible in the Disgaea/Makai Kingdom universe. When Zetta finds himself in book form after that little ordeal in the beginning of Makai Kingdom, he is left powerless. Then Salome comes along with a solution: Share mana with a contractor on earth and then have the said contractor summon him in his usual form to participate in the Holy Grail war to regain his body. Said contractor could be Shirou, Ilya, just about anyone.

It then becomes a trend in the Netherworld and more overlords do the same thing just for the heck of it. Or you could have some of them have a wish of some sort they can't fulfill with their own powers.

That way, the mana problem is solved. What say you? (favourite quote :snigger: )

The biggest problem with your idea is very simple. Zetta is too damn proud to be any sort of servant to even another overlord, much less a human, no matter what state he's in. He'd rather stay a book than be called ANYone's Servant, especially since being summoned and all is a crapshoot that can land him as Berserker, which would be utterly catastrophic for him, as physically Zetta isn't impressive at all - he needs his magic to do anything noteworthy.

Also, the moment the Grail attempted to summon him it'd get FUXORED UP worse than when Angra Mainyu was summoned. At that point the Grail Wars would become moot, as it'd have either been destroyed by the massive backlash, been rendered useless or blown up the universe.

Magical circuits are fixed from birth, so you can't increase that number either.
Actually if I remember right you can but then run an extremely high risk of blowing yourself apart if you screw up. It's apparently what Shirou's been doing which somewhat explains his rather high number of circuits.

I remember that Rin and Sakura both were supposed to have 50 magic circuits, which is extremely high for a natural-born mage.

Fuyuki wiki says that the ancestral seals that each mage family passes down work more or less like transplanted magic circuits. They're specialized for the family's unique pursuit of magic, though, so they're not as useful. Furthermore, it's painful and physically damaging to graft them on unless the body is prepared for it ahead of time.

Shirou's problem was that he wasn't originally taught how to properly channel magic through his circuits, and thought that the circuits were actually on the physical body. This resulted in him occasionally channeling magic wrong, and using his nerves to do it instead of the actual magic circuits. I presume Rin eventually taught him the correct way to do it, using his 20+ (don't remember the actual number) natural magic circuits.

Now, back to the topic.

Yeah, I can't see someone like Zetta, Laharl, etc., being summoned. But that's not all the characters in the NIS franchises.

Adell = Berserker, easy. ^_^
Etna = Lancer, assuming her power level isn't too high for the ritual. She might also count as Archer, if one takes her Prinny Raid into account.
Flonne = Archer, if anything at all.
Marjoly = Caster. Scary.
Yukimaru = Assassin. :snigger:

Any other ideas?

edit: Castile = Rider. That's pretty much all she's good at. :lol:
