The Price Of Freedom Fact Challenge

I have hit yet another block in finishing the plot for my SW AU fic, The Price Of Freedom, and these fact challenge threads might just be a fun way of getting rid of it so...

1: Only SW characters, please. I plan to do a few crossover cameos in future chapters, but those are supposed to be a surprise.

2: No number limit for the prompts, but try to keep them down to a manageable level (although I suspect that this isn't going to be a big problem).

May the Force be with you!

Anakin.

Two years prior to the battle of Geonosis, Anakin became a fan of Jizz music and gathered a rather large collection of datacards with recorded concerts. Eventually, he even tried to create a jizz band with a number of other padawans.

However, Anakin's lack of talent with the fanfar and a rather clumsy attempt to bully padawan Bultar Swan into becoming the group's lead singer resulted in the band's dissolution by Master Kenobi and Anakin's music collection being donated to charity.

A month later, a number of images were anonymously sent to the offices of a Coruscanti magazine aimed at young female readers. Said images contained very detailed images of a nude Obi-Wan Kenobi swimming in the apparent safety of the pools in the Jedi Temple. Much to the chagrin of the Jedi, over a billion copies of the magazine were sold that month in Coruscant and nearby systems and no evidence of Anakin's involvement was uncovered during the investigation.

Obi-Wan Kenobi.

To this day, Kenobi has only shared minimal details about the months of imprisonment he suffered after being captured by the dark Jedi Asajj Ventress during the battle of Jabiim.

It is known that he was tortured, that his connection with the Force was damaged and that the Queen of Rattatak tried (and failed) to break his very soul, in order to prove her superiority to count Dooku. Nonetheless, many Jedi believe that much of what happened hasn't been revealed yet and that Kenobi's obsessive efforts to rescue Ventress from the clutches of the Dark Side began there.

Count Dooku.

As a result of a long tradition of eugenics and the limited genetic pool avalaible to the aristocracy of Serenno, Dooku bears the mark of centuries of inbreeding. Although he was an exceptionally robust and hardy human when he was younger, Dooku ages far faster than an average human.

Despite having the power of the Force and some of the very best medical technology in the galaxy to fight his aging, he knows that he probably will die before reaching the century. This is, in part, the cause of his overpowering fear of death. Also, his fear of deteriorating his body any further, means that Dooku tries to use the Dark Side as little as possible, unlike Darth Sidious.

Good?

Yes.

You may want to include a link to this thread, or do something like this, over on Spacebattles.com. Then again, maybe not.

Sorry about the late reply. My last week has been rather busy, including a move, looking for a new job and some more real life crap. Hope this is good.

Padme Amidala.

A chance encounter with a Gungan fisherman during a holiday in the beaches in the eastern shore of lake Paonga terrified an eight years old Padme Naberrie for a long time. The young girl had had a rather idyllic time growing up in the mountains of Naboo and that Gungan was the first non-human she had ever met, so she supposed that the "big ugly thing" that she had seen was one of the underwater monsters she had been told about and that she was very lucky to have escaped with her life.

She was rather shaken to discover a few years later that the "monster" was actually one of the true natives of Naboo, but her childhood experience had left her a deep dislike of all things Gungan that she has had to cope with ever since. As a queen, she was perfectly happy to preserve the "one world, two states" status quo that existed before the Trade Federation invasion of her world. She was finally forced to overcome her fears after meeting Jar Jar Binks, which helped a great deal when she was eventually forced to ask the Gungans for help against the droid army a short while later.

Nonetheless, Padme remains rather uncomfortable when she is in the presence of Gungans she doesn't know personally and has politely declined several invitations to visit Otoh Gunga.

Cos Palpatine.

Cos Palpatine was the third and last apprentice of the Muun Aramastor Pelendis, the public alter ego of Darth Plagueis. When Darth Intitus, a Firrerreo that had thirty years of Sith training under his belt, unexpectedly failed to defeat his aging master, Plagueis was forced to seek a new apprentice. In the end, he managed to find a suitable candidate in a manor near Theed, where he met a surprisingly gifted young human that had somehow been missed by the Jedi and who had learned some of the basics of Force control on his own already.

It was relatively easy for Aramastor to secure a position as private tutor to the two young sons of the Palpatine family, Ilian and Cos. Cos, the youngest, showed all the typical signs of sibling jealousy towards his elder brother and it was easy for a Sith Lord to turn these embers into a raging bonfire. The murder of Ilian Palpatine, disguised as an accident during a fishing trip, was Cos' first step towards the darkness that would dominate the rest of his life. Shortly afterwards, Plagueis would reveal himself as a Sith Lord and the training of the boy who would eventually become Darth Sidious began in earnest.

Qui-Gon Jinn.

Qui-Gon was a maverick in life and remains a maverick in death. Most of the Jedi spirits that exist in the Force are fully commited to the eternal conflict against the minions of the dark side, but Qui-Gon's contributions are half-hearted at best.

Nowadays, he grudgingly accepts that the Dark Side is as much a natural part of the Living Force as the Light Side, which means that all attemtps to destroy the Sith and their ilk are doomed to failure, for as long as the Force exists.

For some time now, Qui-Gon has been looking for a way to untie this Gordian knot and has had some fascinating debates about this matter with a small group of like minded spirits, including a few that actually had direct experience with the Dark Side during their lifes. Unfortunately, they have yet to devise a way to end the conflict and its devastating effects in the living world, although Qui-Gon finds most intriguing the ideas of a ghost that goes by the name of Kreia.

The Jensaarai.

Less than a dozen members of this sect survive at present, having been decimated by a Jedi attack led by Neeja Halcyon roughly six months before the battle of Coruscant. As far as Dooku and the Jedi themselves are concerned, the Jensaarai no longer exist and this suits the Jensaarai themselves just fine.

Thusla Tyris, the current Saarai-Kaar, has only a very limited training in the Jedi arts and an even more limited understanding of Sith power, but she was told by her late husband that her potential power is moderately impressive and she has a sharp intellect which she hopes will be enough to rediscover the knowledge they lost when the Jedi came.

At the moment, however, she is far more interested in keeping as many of her friends alive as possible and has discovered that raising a young human/anzat hybrid with high Force potential without attracting frenzied mobs is not particularly easy. The Jensaarai will have to wait many years before growing strong enough to make any impact in the galactic scene.

Shaak Ti.

The Togruta are pack predators, with extra emphasis on the "pack" part. They also mature much faster than humans, meaning that when the high Force potential of Shaak Ti was discovered at the age of three standard years, she had the equivalent mental age of a ten-years-old human child. She showed a great deal of courage when she decided to follow An'ya Kuro to Coruscant, knowing that it meant adopting the Jedi as her new pack.

Nonetheless, being forced to stand alone against a room full of reporters is enough to set off her "fight-or-flight" instincts and over the last few years she has developed unusually aggressive instincts concerning journalists. There are persistent rumours in the Temple about how her brief stint as spokesperson for the Order, following the battle of Geonosis, ended when she literally shoved some particularly rude individuals out of the room using the Force.

Ahsoka Tano.

She was assigned to Anakin as padawan in the hopes that her "master" would also learn from the experience, but the hopes of the Council were dashed during the the crisis with the Hutt clans.

Although Skywalker and Tano worked well enough as partners (that they managed to defeat and almost capture Asajj Ventress was more than proof enough of this), they never developed the kind of bond that most consider necessary in a master-padawan relationship and as a result Tano began to subconsciously think of master Kenobi as her actual master.

When she realized this, she broached the topic to Anakin. Surprisingly, Anakin agreed that he had been a poor teacher and together they asked the Council for a new, more suitable master for Ahsoka.

Eventually, Tsui Choi was reluctantly convinced to take her as his apprentice, although the Aleena initially stated that he considered her ready to undergo the Trials, because Tano replied that she didn't feel ready yet. In the weeks following the battle of Coruscant, she has been enjoying some long overdue shore leave hunting small rodents in the plains of southern Shili.

The stuff about the clones will have to wait a while longer, I fear.

ARC Captain Fordo

Delta Squad
Alpha 77.

Captain Fordo lost his left arm fighting against the bounty hunter Durge, during the battle of Muunilinst, which brought the career of this courageous soldier to an early end. Although the paramedics managed to save his life, the replacement limb was rejected by his body, as a result of the genetic differences between ARCs and the baseline troopers.

Although he eventually accepted a bionic implant, instead of a cloned arm, Fordo was not allowed to return to active service and was instead transferred to the training centers in Kamino, where he became one of the chief instructors for the fifth and sixth generation clone troopers. Since this transfer his mood has become as stormy as the skies of Kamino, although he still fulfills his obligation with the usual efficience of the Alpha series.

Nonetheless, the cloners are worried about what they see as progressive decay in the programing of one of their best creations and some have suggested that a vivisection could be Fordo's last great contribution to the cause of the Galactic Republic.

Commander Cody.

Cody was one of the many test subjects of the RELEASE experiment led by the ARC Alpha 17, in an attempt to increase the ability of clone officers to operate more independently, although still within the parameters allowed by the rigid Kaminoan conditioning.

In his case, the experiment was considered a smashing success. The clone previously known as CC-2224 became the soldier known as Cody, developed a well defined personality and gained some hobbies. That one of said hobbies was ogling all comely human (and humanoid) females within range was deemed irrelevant, after the experts ascertained that this had had no negative impact in his combat perfomance.

Ultimately, this would prove to be a major oversight when a batch of food lacking the customary spermicide agents resulted in Cody's lover getting pregnant during the two months of battle that were needed to destroy the Separatist strongholds in the mid rim world of Maramere. The clone was understandably upset when he learnt this, but after some reflexion he has decided that he would rather survive long enough to be a part of the childhood of his offspring.

Just in case, however, he has written a testament that ensures that his accumulated wealth (2.3 million credits at this point) will be put in a trust fund, to ensure that his family will never suffer financial hardship.

Delta Squad.

Officially, they were KIA during the battle of Mygeeto, but in truth Walon Vau managed to exploit a flaw in the programming of the Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon and Zeta series that granted the orders given by the original instructors designated by Jango Fett (such as Vau himself) the highest priority.

As a result, the clones accepted Vau's offer to join the Mandalorian Compact sponsored by the CIS and became traitors to the Republic. So far, Delta 62 is the only member of the squad who feels that their choice was unwise, although he has no plans to abandon his team in the foreseeable future.

Well. Sorry. I thought that I had already answered these a while back.
