Pain shot through his system, the first sign of leaving the darkness of sleep.

His eyes shot open at one of the more jarring pains, leaving him to yelp in surprise and shock.

His vision was blurry at first as he tried to survey his surroundings without shifting any weight, hoping to figure out just what was damaged.

Memory shot back, pain and fire.

A jarring impact.

Lee Adama remembered, he'd crashed.

His ship was in the local docking bay while he waited for the papers to clear.

With what he wanted to do to the Chariot, he needed to register it out of one of the less stringent sets of requirements and that had brought him to Hephaestus.

Named after the god of the forge, Hephaestus was on the periphery of Colonial space the farthest they had spread away from the Red Line. It was a smaller world, low gravity and lacking in life even though it positively teemed, just like the rest of the system, with various metals and minerals that could be shipped out to the main colonies for use.

It was also the last planet colonized by the sons and daughters of Kobol, only being founded after the Cylon War.

Lee had enjoyed being in a place where he blended in, just one of the crowd in the busy station.

In the military, people always expected him to be a copy of his father, to follow his footsteps.

With his current studies in law, the professors and teachers seemed to expect him to be the second coming of his grandfather.

His own goals were different, he'd seen the way the colonies seemed to resent each other now, a discontent beneath the surface just waiting to explode.

Then there was Revan, and the teachings he had been given from the one who had shown him the power that slept within him, begun to help him harness the power of the Force.

Reaching out, he probed his own body, finding the damage and beginning work on it while his eyes caught the distant wreckage of the survey craft that he'd been convinced to use.

One of the miners had dared him to fly one of the survey craft for a day after he'd mentioned having qualified as a Viper pilot, well, he was still qualified as a Viper pilot as the certification never really expired.

Well, that miner had forgotten to mention the fact that there were storms due, or he'd have waited a bit before heading out.

At least his flight suit was relatively intact save for some minor tears, a big hint at the quality of the equipment in the area.

With his probe finished and no serious injuries, the young Adama pushed himself to his feet and headed towards the wreckage in the hopes of figuring out where the hell he was.

Well, Lee considered, there was good news and bad news.

The good was that he now had gear to stay alive, unfortunately the bad included the fact that the comms equipment was damaged and a storm was on its way.

Shelter had become a definite priority as he shouldered the emergency pack from the ship, fortunately the terrain was one that it shouldn't be to difficult to find a safe place to lay low until the storms had passed and he could wait for a rescue near the crash site.

He probed the force for guidance and felt something unusual, a brush of power that felt vaguely familiar, similar to his masters presence, though stronger and closer and with a very different...

Well, he couldn't quite put words to how it was different, but it was unusual and somehow alien to his mind.

At least it should be relatively easy to investigate and he could look for a cave or other place to hole up in until the storm went away.

The distant flashes of cobalt lightning and rumble of thunder sped him on his way, moving easily through the rocky landscape.
