What's with the pureheart shit? Doesn't Riku have a keyblade after being an evil fuck for the entirety of the first game?
Well, we don't know HOW Riku'ss Soul Eater sword became Way to Dawn...and during the Riku VS Roxas fight, he could hold Oblivion without it returning to Roxas. And about Kite...Good point. And enlighten me more about Anubis, Bill?

What about Longshot from the X-Men? With his incredible luck and pure heart he could qualify as a keybearer, I think.

He's a villain in Ronin Warriors. One of four major evil generals, but he's supposed to be the strongest. As a villain, he's pretty awesome for doing this.

Usual plot twists: has redemptive qualities, unites with heroes against a greater evil, redeems himself. He becomes some sort of spiritual monk in the second season and then dies saving another person from some kind of corrupted darkness (been forever since I saw it, don't remember much of the late series).

Hmm...This is a good idea. Actually, I WAS thinking of a class of Keybearers who're similar to Riku: They've conquered their darkness, and can use it much like Riku can.

Cubbi Gummi from the old Gummi Bears Disney cartoon series. He always dreamed of becoming a knight.

Bobby, the Barbarian from the old Dungeons & Dragons cartoon.

I'm surprised noone has suggested Dawn from BtVS to warp the whole "key" thing she has.

OK, comment time...
Link..I'm not surprised he was suggested.
Megaman Trigger....If they get him off Elysium...
Nagisa Kai from Iczelion...Enlighten me on this one.

Crusader, I think that Kitty Pryde and Alex Power would best fit being Keybearers.
Nagisa is the usual girl with a dream (being a pro wrestler ^_^ ) who is drafted into a fight against alien/interdimensional invaders by a sentient armor system called Iczel. It ties into the previous animes Iczer-1 and Iczer-3 loosely.

Oh, now I've got a general idea of Nagisa...

I've found a great series by a Deviantartist named Jameson9101322 that should help you out, Tempo, with inspiration if nothing else. Here's a sample of his work, and one wildcard I threw in from another artist:

Doc from Cars.

Teyla, Ronan and John from Stargate: Atlantis

Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho

Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation

Wash from Firefly

Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean

Alphonse from Full Metal Alchemist

Burt Gummer from Tremors

Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing

Mamoru from Sailor Moon

Whoa...Now that is a LOT of Keybearers....I guess it's time for me to reconsider having nonorganic beings not being able to use the Keyblade; Roxas didn't have a "heart," yet the Keyblade still chose him....

Sheridan from Babylon 5.
I've heard of this guy...But mind explaining a little bit more?

Also, how should this new Keyblade Order be organized in terms of how it works? I'm thinking Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order is a good example.

Replacement for Sinclair after Season 1. "The one who will be." Eventually becomes president of an alliance of all the races in the galaxy, at least I think so... I haven't gotten that far yet.

Alphonse Elric, a Keybearer...that's awesome. No question.

I'M suprised no one's thought of Guy Shishio or Mikoto Utsugi from GaoGaiGar.

Granted it's almost too easy then...a Keybearer's will determines the strength of the blade, thus Guy would be prolly be God Moding the whole way.

I'm thinking Guy wouldn't be a Keybearer. Every bearer of a Keyblade seems to have a journey of discovery that changes them and helps them find their inner strength.*

Guy? Well, by the time he becomes Evoluder Guy, his inner strength pretty much defines him.

Mikoto, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have much faith in herself, despite being an Evoluder just like Guy. As strong as she gets in FINAL, she still has a lot of room to grow.

*stance subject to change depending on whether further KH games elaborate more on the nature of the Keyblade.

Well, the upcoming KH game "Birth By Sleep" may shed some light on the Keyblade...

BTW,how would this"New Keyblade Order" be organized?
