throw some ideas at me for my boyband superhero story?

Hey, I've never posted here before, I'm really new to writing in general. I'm currently working on a story about (don't laugh) nsync/ general early 2000's popstars but with a superhero element to it. It's kind of silly, just for fun and practice more than anything. But I'm a bit stuck for ideas as I've never written a superhero story before. I have some of it planned out though.

So, the backstreet boys are going to be the main supervillains but I can't really think of what it is that their powers (if any, they could use gadgets or something) should be. Or what they would even be trying to accomplish, what their villain persona would be. I had planned for them to wreak havoc at the 1999 VMA awards that nsync was performing at. Lance bass from nsync would secretly have superpowers and try to sneak away to foil their plans without his band mates finding out. But, I'm not really sure what shenanagins the backstreet boys could get up to at the VMAs. I need to figure out what their plans are before I can write how lance foils them.

So, I realize this is a kinda ridiculous story, but honestly, any ideas you throw at me are appreciated. Even if they are small or silly or over the top. Any ideas for a backstreet boys villan persona, or any other aspect of the story would be helpful.

Well the first thing I did was look these cats up on Wikipedia. I knew of their existence, but the thing I remembered most, was that Lance got cleared to go to space but never did. So you could play with that I guess, but making Alternate Future Lance the source of his powers, who came back in a Space Suit to give him Future Technology to win???

Anyway after counting apparently there are/were five members of the Backstreet Boys, which of course means they are a Five Man Band, or more precisely, a Five Bad Band. I would give them powers that are thematic to their "role" within the five; possibly go all-in with a Time Travel plot and make them Future Tech cyborgs or something to explain where the "powers" come from. (On wikipedia I see that one of the BB had corrective heart surgery, maybe you could give him a robot heart like Captain Picard).

I guess there were also contract disputes with the manager and the record label or whatever, maybe you could use that, make Lou Perlman the Man Behind the Man that's secretly the real bad guy.

Funnily enough, I've read another story which cast musicians as superheroes. It was called Zephyr. Pretty much, if you were a musical in our world, you where a superhero in this one. I think the main character secretly had Yoko Ono as a mother. She being a super villain who broke up the Beetles or something.

As for the Backstreet Boys and playing of the time travel idea, perhaps they use their music careerer as cover for their supervillain life. That is, play show, jump back in time, commit crime while past self is on stage, meet up with future again with cast iron alibi.

I got exasperated with how often people on Nasuverse threads nitpicked why provisional or even unimportant details of a story idea where non-canon, rather than actually addressing the basic concept.

So I promised myself that I would only talk about "how to make it work", because when the only response is "your idea is unworkable or stupid", the threads get boring pretty goddam quick.

And then it turned out that dreaming up workable plans for psychedelic story concepts is actually a fun puzzle to me, so I never looked back.

Anyway,

ff.net took down their "Real People" Categories like a decade and a half ago because they were scared of getting their butts sued off by dozens of multimillionaires, so I couldn't just link to the NSync/BackstreetBoys Crossover category filtered for scifi; but I did find a multi-part NSync/Stargate Atlantis cross on AO3*, which is even sillier.
