Naruto Times the anime one-upped the manga

If the anime becomes canon, it's likely Kishimoto(or whoever for him) would keep a relatively close eyes on what they do.

The Mist ANBU panicked so much that they didn't start attacking him in waves - could it be because Madara purposely weakened them mentally with genjutsu?

(Were there THAT many ANBU in the manga?)

They didn't attack Obito in waves because they'd already clearly witnessed that it was pointless to attack him at all. That's why one of them ordered the others to grab Rin's corpse, they were clearly planning to retreat with it rather than keep fighting him.

That fight is one of my favorite in the entire manga. It's wonderfully dark and brutal, and really drives home just how fucked up the ninja world truly is. You don't normally get to see it that starkly what with most of the screentime focusing on the charismatic, idealistic stereotypically shonen hero that Naruto is. Seriously this manga could have easily been a super-depressing and dark fantasy series without changing the setting at all. Just imagine if someone like Kentaro Miura had written the series instead.

Oro keeps being the absoluteest madman! Only he can keep getting away with it|

I still don't understand why any rational person would think that Yamato could keep Orochimaru under control if he really wanted to cause trouble. Yamato is a badass but Orochimaru is out of his league and also a mad scientist who could easily pull something completely ridiculous out of his ass to blindside the poor dude. And it seem kind of cruel to Yamato to make him spend most of his time constantly watching the evil creep.

Probably for the illusion of safety. This must have been thought up by politicians.

Edit: unless Yamato got a super-upgrade due to his contact with the tree with Hashirama's cells, and is now Kage-level after some training, or something.

Even if Yamato was powered up and the other nations vetoed executing Orochimaru because they want to keep him around as an ace-in-the-hole in case another Kaguya shows up... he should still be in a maximum security prison. Sure, it can be a nice prison with comfortable furniture and television and maybe even a laboratory so he can keep doing research, but he should definitely not be allowed to move around as freely as he does. The dude has a history of starting wars for the lulz and committing mass kidnapping and lethal human experimentation on a scale that would qualify as genocide. Who the fuck would think that just ordering one badass soldier to follow him around discretely would be an appropriate "punishment" for such an evil supervillain?

Maybe Yamato can now possibly "sense" Orochimaru because Oroìs body is a Zetsu modified with Yamato's DNA.

That said, keeping Orochimaru locked isn't going to be easy. It's most likely more effective keep him "not unhappy", knowing he gets a degree of freedom as long as he keeps his act together.
Yamato is there to make sure of that: He's not supposed to stop Orochimaru, he's a living "bad tendencies returns" alarm.

Those two scenes were fucking beautiful. Oro just trolling about for no reason. I kind of hope he shows up at the wedding with a surprisingly thoughtful gift and everyone is just like "What?"

He'll show up at Bolt's birth and state he wants a child, now.

Anime ended at episode 500, btw.

With Naruto's wedding for some reason, as if the romance in this series isn't terrible.

Looks like they skipped animating the Kakashi and Sakura novels just to pull that off.

most likely- also, it means they can animate them as Boruto fillers, should the need arise.

So this guy's definitely going to be in the anime:

Man, they're probably going to do the movie again.
