Why is it that I have to deal with this?! All I want is to buy a Christmas tree!" he shouted at then unfairness of the world and both of the girls looked at each other.
"If that is all that you wanted, there was a store that was open just down the road." Said Himegami. "We can take you if you want."
"Ah! And the angel Himegami descends from above! See Iron Wall Girl?! Take an example from Himegami! This is how you treat people!" said Kamijou and Himegami blushed at the remark that Kamijou made about her.
"Yes, you do treat people like that."
"Are you implying I'm less than a person in your eyes?" said Kamijou as he was dragged towards the store where he was dropped forcibly and looked inside the store. Otohime had let go and Index had also done so and Kamijou tried to do some window shopping to see if he could see the tree that he wanted.
"What are you looking for?" asked Himegami as she came up to Kamijou's side.
"The perfect tree." Responded Kamijou as he passed Himegami a note and she gave a read, rather surprised at the things that he had written on it. Fukiyose looked over to the side and Himegami gave it to her to read and she frowned at some of the things that he had written.
"Oi, Kamijou Touma. What do you mean by waterproof? Are you planning on drowning your tree with water?"
"Don't be ridiculous. It's in case my sink and bath flood with water due to my misfortune." It was rather remarkable that he dismissed an idea because it was ridiculous and then proposed one that was equally as ridiculous.
"Hey Index. Do you see anything that matches the list?" he asked her and she shook her head.
"We should go inside and check out the store Touma." Said Index as she made her way inside and the group of Kamijou, Fukiyose, Himegami, Index and Otohime made their way inside, each of them looking for the tree that Kamijou wanted. After 10 minutes of searching and the lack of results, Kamijou felt rejected by society itself.
"But still, these kind of stores sure only appear once every year right?" he pondered.
"Yeah, the competition must be amazing. After all, getting Academy City to buy your goods is a status symbol in the normal world." Responded Fukiyose. "Especially if one of the Level 5s bought it. There's not much enjoyment if a Level 0 like yourself buys one."
He approached the store clerk and showed her the list of things that he needed out of his tree. She frowned whenever she saw something odd and pointed it out to Kamijou and he explained what each criteria meant.
"Not a conductor?"
"In case Biri Biri attacks me and my home."
"Not heavy?"
"In case it falls out my window with me attached to it."
"Not dry?"
"So it doesn't burn easily."
"Will shatter when I punch it?"
"In case some magicians or espers decide to control my Christmas tree as an assassination attempt."
The store clerk seemed to be overwhelmed with the amount of criteria that she had however made some kind of suggestion towards Kamijou.
"Um….do you really think that everything on this list will happen to you? I think that there's such a thing as being too paranoid." She said kindly however it was Otohime that spoke up.
"Ne, if Onii-chan says it will happen then it will probably happen. His misfortune is that amazing."
The store clerk looked towards the boy and found that his expression was that of a small child about to cry. She wanted to comfort him and try and make him feel better so she thought of one thing that came to mind however it was difficult for the boy to actually achieve.
"Um…..there's one thing. Since you have your cousin and other girls around you, you might want to try School Garden. Apart from that, the only thing that would meet your criteria would be the Windowless Building."
