So, three things that I take away from this chapter.
First off, with the Hidden Floor being such that it's only data of powerful fighters in the past and current Rankers are not allowed to sync with their data if they ever registered themselves in the Hidden Floor, it means there's going to be virtually no outside interference in the next arc. Unless somebody finds out Baam and his friends are going into the Hidden Floor and can find somebody who a) has himself registered in the Virtual World and b) isn't already a Ranker, there's no real way of hitting our heroes in this arc. Karaka is a Ranker. The one X-Factor here is if Hoaqin is currently considered a Ranker in his incomplete state, which may throw a curveball in here. Of course, this also means no help from Evan, Yuri or Urek.
Second, in the first Season we were told (and shown) on multiple occasions that Baam simply wasn't an OP freakshow (right away) like the other Irregulars who entered the Tower. Assume this still holds true. This means that Baam might get his ass kicked by young Zahard, who in fact was an overpowered monster. Heck, we don't even know when real Zahard last synced with his data, considering it was he who created the Rankers system, so he might've gone back and synced up with himself right before making the Rankers set-up.
I don't think that's quite true because third, I expect Baam to get his ass kicked but win the day because he and young Zahard will still have the same ideals. Either young Zahard will know about his real self's current activities and disagree with him, or he'll see Baam and think "Damn, this guy would be a perfect fit with the real me's beliefs, I don't really see any reason not to give him the item."
My two cents on how that'll go down.
Also, I wonder just what the item Zahard gave his past self is. Maybe SIU will foil all our expectations and it'll really be some sentimental item like a group photo of the 12 Warriors that Po Bidau Gustang really covets out of nostalgia.
