Umi no Misaki

Umi no Misaki 111 is now up.

Not a whole lot happens, honestly. Wish we could've gotten to the next part quicker considering the long waits between releases, but you take what you can get.

So I'm thinking the obvious path for the next two chapters will be flashbacks to his time with Soyogi and Shizuka respectively while he smexxes them up, before we'll get on to the conclusion of the festival. Still going to be slow, but at least we get lots of smexxy maidens while we await the finale.

For some reason, I'm hoping on a Tenchi Solution and all four of them (5 if Rinne is in the getaway boat) get the heck out of dodge.

Or at least Soyogi has some scuba tanks prepped and hidden in the on the way to "Shizuku's island".

This is one of the few series where there was enough development that I wouldn't mind the harem ending. As for scuba gear, I doubt it since her recently made plan was to book it on the boat and scuba gear seems like it wouldn't be something the islanders would have laying around for her to grab. More likely, the recent supernatural shenanigans are going to play a part in how everything is resolved as far as the double suicide thing goes.

I actually liked how the mangaka reserved the supernatural aspect of the Dragon God lore, which you have to admit most of us had to be waiting for that, until it was necessary to have that power show up. And in fact, the manga will no doubt receive and automatic fail if it does not say why it the power has shown up during Goto's incarnation as opposed to the others.

I originally thought the Dragon God Lore was just a hokey reason to get him the harem, and as it developed I had my reservations. But the scene with him being possessed and saving Rinne (aka: one of his reincarnated past Waifus), makes me wonder and plot out various explanations and endgame outcomes (and not just for the ones I've previously posted for tel lulz).

I hope I will like this more than his end for Ai Yori Aoshi. So far, I am. It is quite surprising considering how much I hated Ai Yori Aoshi as it came down the stretch and Umi is much better in comparison.

Note: This has nothing to do with the recent orgy. I was quite satisfied with the pairing in AYA but that last arc... it coloured and distorted my perception of the great manga.

I liked Ai Yori Aoshi anime, I have it but not read all the Ai Yori Aoshi manga... though admittedly 2nd season anime was less inspiring than first...

The anime and the manga are great for any collection but the last arc of the manga is horrid. Even after all these years, that ending arc ruins the great series in my mind.

AiAo's closing arc... hmm... I didn't hate it, but there were parts of it that did make me raeg!
Although I did think at that time that the drama felt forced.

*bump* whoa... how long has it been
sooo spoilers for 113-115?
Nagi my man! :yay:
You show the ladies some love and then man up saying "I must have them all!!!" now that takes some bowling ball sized cojones to pull off... :hail:

Too bad Shizuku had other stuff in mind. I'm still curious about how Fumizuki is going to deal with this.

AiAo was pretty much first girl (which was osananajimi) wins, and Aoi did get the lovins' while the other girls not even a smooch.

UnM... is not a clusterfuck yet, but the plot tweeests are starting to grate on me.

Unfortunately, I need to find 113 and 114. But still, hurry up Nagi. You gotta put an end to the vicious cycle.

So you'd say he should bring things to, as it were, a climax? ;)

116. I just want to know what the heck happened in 113-115 besides sexing up Soyogi (damn shame those chapters aren't translated yet) that leads up to him stabbing himself and walking with critical abdominal injuries.

What happened was
Nagi sexed up all three of them (with corresponding happy memories of their time together on the island), once composed instead of picking one of the maidens, he says something about choosing all three of them, and not abandoning any one of them.
Soyogi was happy that she was not denied and Karin comments that "it's such a NAGI type response", but then Shizuku gets all apologetic as the others start to faint/pass out.

My wild mass guess is that Shizuku drugged them then went out doing something very public/showy to keep them (the town villagers) happy and avoid Nagi and any of the other maidens doing some weird cult "couple suicide" thing.

Why she's walking around town when everyone else has secluded themselves?
I have no clue, but she does seem to want to take upon herself "the obligations of a chosen maiden"... or something.

So he stupidly stabbed himself in the guts (horrible way to go) for no reason? I doubt that he avoided vital organs with the way that he was jabbing it in and doubt he knew where to aim.

I don't buy the pain to concentrate his mind BS because losing blood is not conductive to staying upright.

I...wanna know what happens, but I also wanna wait and read it for myself. Those spoiler tags are so tempting. =/

Why won't someone just translate it already? ;_;

The spoiler tags don't tell you anything that genre savvy readers didn't already suspect.

There's a difference between suspecting and knowing, though. And one of the things I enjoy about reading a well written story, even if I know the given medium well enough to make educated guesses about plot developments, is finding out if my conclusions are right or not, since I'm either pleased that my expectations were met, or pleasantly surprised at the unexpected development. <.<

I think he stabbed himself to use the pain to keep him awake and alert after being drugged or something.

You know, the whole story could actually be Lovecraftian Horror in disguise. Just imagine, that Nagi is actually the Son of Dagon the Primordial and Shizuku and the maidens... Shit, it's scary how the setting fits so well.
