Michal Bay is producing a Duke Nukem Movie.

John Cena in negotiations to star.

This...could work. Duke Nukem is basically a Michal Bay movie in video game form. I can see Cena in the role as well. It's not too far off of his wrestling persona, and he's old enough to pull it off now.

Bay's style would absolutely not be at odds with the source material.

Word is he's been wanting to do an R rated movie as well. He's pitched an R rated Transformers film, but they won't let him do it. There is absolutely no reason Duke Nukem shouldn't be R rated. Especially in a post Deadpool world, this is a film that should be in the same vein. Light on plot [Aliens invade to steal our women, Duke is out of gum], big on explosions and mayhem, and overall exactly the sort of thing Bay likes to do in R rated form.

I don't see how well a Duke Nukem movie is going to go down these days. Sure, he's a parody of 80's action machismo, and if there's one director that can match that feel of "Manly man kicks ass and bones hot chicks", it's Michael Bay, but unless you've got a clever script that has layers of ironic sexism and misogyny, it's going to fall flat.

Plus, there'll be a media backlash for this because of who Duke Nukem is. He makes Bond look like a feminist.

Though, given how many male feminists have a reputation for being creepers, sexual harassers and/or straight up rapists, maybe Bond is a male feminist?

Duke Nukem would make for an excellent movie... but the charm of Duke Nukem lies in its sacrilege. This era wouldn't accept it at all, there's a good possibility that they'd try to make it more audience friendly.

Jon St. John in particular isn't onboard with the movie idea at all currently. He'd much prefer it to be a CGI thing.

Consider the source. There's a huge conflict of interest here.

Jon St. John has a horse in that race. He's not going to voice the character and get paid if it's live action.

In a live action film the best he can hope for is a cameo role.

I don't see any reason to think a CGI movie would be any better to be honest. Jon St. John is just being self promotional here.

You should consider that Michael Bay has gotten away with a lot in his movies. More than a lot of other directors would. Sure, he was criticized for some of it, but the low brow nature of his films and reputation for making dumb explosion porn kind of glossed it over.

Also, as Duke Nukem is by its very nature a parody, it can get away with more as a result of it.

Michael Bay has a pornographic sensibility - if he wasn't directed big budget action blockbusters, he'd be directing porn.

Yeah, and that fits Duke Nukem perfectly.

Almost definitely.

It's the same outfit he wore in Return of the Jedi.

Though, it could be some bounty hunter or something who he kills and steals his clothes from to use as a disguise for some reason.

I don't recall that ever being the explanation for his outfit in Jabba's Palace though. So it's probably just some battle gear he owns and might be related to an alias of his.

In the Return of the Jedi toy line, the outfit is called "Skiff Guard Disguise", but it's not a uniform as none of the other skiff guards are dressed the same.

The marketing is still on point.

First trailer arrives today!

*Reportedly

This has not been confirmed, though there is evidence that suggests it.

Might be another horror thing according to sources as the project title "143" seems like it might reference an X-men story that features Kitty facing off against a demon.

The story plays out similarly to Alien, which Fox also owns the rights too.

I honestly don't know if it is the best idea if this is the case for a Kitty Pride solo movie, as it will inevitably be seen by many as a rip off of Alien [which it is and deliberately so] and has a predictable climax because of that.

She's also alone throughout the comic due to it happening at Christmas, with the only other characters being a couple of victims out in the woods in the prologue. So it would be easily done as a PG-13 horror thing if they stick to adapting it without compromising the source.

They could toss in a few no-name mutants to act as fodder I suppose.

Sure, they could change things up a bit, but it will likely still be too similar if they're doing what reports suggest they are.

I don't see how this would work.

The game starts, Goku goes any level of SSJ. The credits roll.

It worked for Looney Tunes because they're all relatively equal as far as ability goes.

Anime power levels don't fit something like this. Even without Goku I don't see any hope for anyone opposing a team of Anime characters. Especially the type of Shonen characters that they would need to use for it to have any hope of working in the American market.

This apparently exists. I'm guessing it's the not-so-secret Obi-Wan Kenobi movie, and the whole thing is a massive hallucination of his while he's in exile on Tatooine.

Huh. Not what I expected.

I mean, sure there's going to be a lot of CGI involved, but she seems kind of small for the role in more than one way. I also don't know if her voice works for the character, even if she isn't faking a British accent for the part.

I mean, she doesn't have to be built like a tank or anything, she is an agile hunter type, but I dunno that she can pull off being intimidating or athletic enough for the role. She's supposed to be able to go one on one with Diana and hold her own.

Gal Gadot looks like she'd break Kristen in half.

She's going to be eating chicken breasts and living under the thumb of a personal trainer until the shoot at least.

I couldn't even see her as Cheetah's alter ego, much less the evil furry version.

She's supposed to basically be Laura Croft without a moral compass even as a human. This makes me think they're going to turn Minerva into an awkward nerdy coward before she becomes Cheetah. She's supposed to be a pretty fearless badass sociopath to begin with, just not a superhuman one.

They're gonna have to sell me on this one pretty hard.

If Patty and Kristen can pull it off, great. I'm just not getting my hopes up. Especially not with DC's recent track record regarding movies and properly adapting their characters.
