Just finished the second season of Danmachi (a.k.a Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? )
I find myself rooting for Hestia. Her and Bell would make for a fun couple. But, it does not look like Bell has such interests. As in; he obviously cares for those around him - and he sees Ais Wallenstein as this senior to look up to. And he enjoys feminine beauty (something I find rather surprising in the show!). In spite of that, he appears mature enough to distinguish between lust and romance. As a guy, it looks like he has some lustful thoughts every now and then, but romantic interests?
He just does not appear to think of it. Or perhaps he's just over-whelmed that he does not know what to think? Either way, with the way the show is going, it looks like he's going to be in the I-do-not-know-what-to-do camp. Which means, I'll need to get those fixes of mine via fanfiction.
Romance aside, I'm stunned that they made prostitution such a center-piece of the second season. It's not something I expect from a show targeting teenagers. Morality discussions about the topic aside, the issue of people entering that industry against their will is (in my eyes) a serious matter and it makes me uncomfortable to see a show bring a comedic light to it.
At the end of the day, I think I'll rate this show as a bit below vanilla flavor. The world itself is interesting and has potential. But the story being told here, is just all over the place. Heck, even though we have 'dungeon' in the title, there are too few moments where significant plot events happen within a dungeon!
Also ... why was the city of Orario generally worried about Hestia's kidnapping? That, I do not understand. It was a fellow God who took her. A God who does not have as fearsome a reputation as some of the ones who reside within the city.
With the anime second season ... the war-game was poorly executed. As in, I felt no real tension watching those events - because the opening+ending songs blatantly show Hestia living in a mansion! That was botched story-telling.

PCHeintz72,
I will agree with you that there is a lot this story does not explore. Which is a crying shame. The world the story takes place in, has my interest. But it does not appear that that the author cares to explain much of it. :/
