Heh, meant to put this in yesterday. Was watching AMG S2 ep 21.

Heh, Belldandy forced to act demonic, do bad and evil things (well, in her eyes anyway), and invoking demonic system force level events, all to brigthen up Keiichi's life.

Neat (or is that *WIN* in modern slang, showing my age).
Hmm. That... could lead to some interesting fanfic ideas. What if, due to Hild's manipulation, Belldandy eventually, isn't 'forced' to do demonic and evil things, and does them... willingly? In other words, she is no longer part of the light side.

Angst and drama? B)

Looks like I need to watch the second season. :) Well, and watch the first season as well. -_-

Do so. Both seasons are very good.

As for the fan fiction idea, well, I've seen a story where there was a bet whether Belldandy and Mara could switch places and be as effective. Not quite the same premise, but similar effects.

it's actually part of a story line in the manga...
Bell isnt really forced to be Evil...
I'll need to re-read that manga to explain it proper for all those interested...
I can say that there was influence by Hild on this and that Bell looks hawt in her mock-demoness robes

and yes, It's worth while to watch both seasons, the animation quality shows and takes more after the newest character designs from Fukushima (compared to the originals, then Sakura Taisen, then Tales of ____ series)

I remember that part. I think. Well, as I think about it, it might be a different (though similar) event concerning Belldandy (as big of a fan as I am of AMG, I still haven't read every chapter of it yet). In the section I'm thinking, Belldandy 'was' implanted with a demon and was 'forced' to be evil for... what was basically a mili-second before her goodness overwhelmed the demon, and well, score one for the good guys you could say.

Of course, the above doesn't sound like anything of the episode. Similiar in that Hild probably wants Bell on her side and not Kamisama's, but still... not quite the same. If she tried again, I didn't read it yet in the mangas.

Hmmm... was watching the last DVD of Kanasuki no Miko. Bummer on the ending.

As for now, currently watching AMG S2 ep 22. Hild is hilarious, and kind of creepy in a kitchen while holding knives with a smile on her face.

One question for anyone reading this though. What the heck was meant by the comment 'Look, you have bed hair again'? Or is that a mistranslation?

I don't know the context of where that line is said so I can't say how it was used in said episode.

But in general, when people talk about 'bed hair', they talk about the fact that, when you wake up, your hair is in a mess. Hence, 'bed hair'.

Oh... I know that. I'm sorry, I should have been clearer.

The problem was it was during the school day, and Hild was asking Keiichi about math notes in Jr. High/High school, she has commented on how good they were, and Belldandy stood a few feet away, hoping for an opening to give him a note describing her feelings, then the off topic comment was made about the bed hair.

Now, I know what bed hair is, but to comment on it out of the blue, and well into a day makes no sense, as does the comment bad hair, if it had been a simple missspelling., and it was not entirely clear who it was directed at, since it was made when she was of screen at the time. Belldandy does not suffer either AFAICR, and Keiichi has short hair in a style that would make it barely noticable.

Thus my question, as it made no sense to me as used.

Heh,

I was rewatching some Escaflowne earlier (I have the VHS box set, but had to download it, as I recently discovered my copy deteriorated to be unusable) Up to episode 5.

Currently watching Shuffle 4. Man, and I thought Shia was the violent one, she has nothing on Nerine. But then, they say it is the quite ones. Personally, I like the fathers reaction to the daughter's display of destruction.

This board isn't dead yet, is it? In case there are some people on this board who don't know me yet, I'm Zenithos. Currently I'm going through Air TV and the Kanon remake. They're both really good. I particularly enjoyed looking out for Air cameos in the the Kanon remake and vice versa.

I also just got Stellvia. The animation is ok so far, though I haven't gotten that far just yet. The opening song is nice though the opening animation left a lot to be desired....felt as if they were forced to try and make enough animation to fill up the entire duration of the song. It's definitely Sci-fi.

Deus Machina Demonbane is ok-ish. I like the premise...it's all about magical grimmoires that have their own personifications who could perform contracts with masters and call out super gigantic mechas.

Innocent Venus is pretty nice but there isn't really enough background info to begin with which could leave you lost at the beginning. It's another post-apocalyptic anime. It seems to revolve around a young girl codenamed Venus. Have yet to finish it.

Suzumiya Haruhi! Need I say more?!

Fate Stay night. Finished it quite a while back. Really good anime. I don't think it needs explaining.

Just got Saikano too. Have yet to watch it, but I heard the angst is quite heart-moving. Tells the story of a little girl-turned-super weapon, Japan's last hope in their losing war against the world. She suffers severe moral dillemmas as she continues to slaughter entire armies to protect the one she loves.

Black Lagoon is the action anime to end all action animes....though I'm kind of used to animes with lots of characters so I found the lack of characters in BL a bit...well...dissapointing. I guess it's just me. But what can you do after having gotten used to the insanity of Mahou Sensei Negima and Love Hina?

Which brings me along to Mahou Sensei Negima. Ok-ish anime but quite a dissapointment to me, since the manga was so good. I don't think the manga really deserved such a crap anime. But I hear the remake is coming soon so...fingers crossed...

Love Hina the anime....don't bother...unless you want to see a few story elements unique to the anime. Otherwise, it was a complete and utter dissapointment after reading the manga.

The Third is a really well made anime. Also post-apocalyptic. It tells the story of a young girl who travels the barren deserts of the desolate future alone on board a tank carravan. Nice action and good drama too.

School Rumble is one of the best comedies I've ever seen in my life, apart from Full Metal Panic. It tells the story of a comedic love triangle between bubbly, clumsy, ditzy little Tenma, School gangster Harima Genji, and this other super perfect dude (who's name I don't bother remembering cuz he's just so darn annoying).

Full Metal Panic is, in all respects, an almost perfect romance comedy, with some hints of action here and there, though I'm sure most of you already know what it is.

Fairy Musketters Otougi Jyushi Akazukin is also pretty good. It seems to be an anime directed at children, though teens could just as well enjoy it. I particularly like it cuz Akazukin's so cute.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanohana. A bit of a twist on your average mahou shoujo story, though it somewhat resembles Card Captor Sakura. Brilliant music though.

Utawarerumono is really good too. I particularly like the premise. Tells the story of a man suffering from amnesia, Hakuoro, who was found by some villagers who later adopt him as one of their own. He later leads them in a campaign to overthrow the dictator emperor and so on (don't want to spoil too much). The fantasy world setting is nice and Hakuoro is so cool! The politics and wars are also quite intriguing.

Shuffle! is also quite interesting, and I might add that I found the ending quite shocking. I'm sure you're all aware what it's about though.

Mai Hime is a masterpiece. Animation's nice and clean. The story's a good fusion of romance, action, angst, fantasy, and sci-fi.

Mai Otome is a must-watch if you've seen Mai Hime. It's just as well made as Mai Hime.

Last Exile is amazing. The CG is brilliant and the story's setting and background's really imaginative. Mostly air battles and such. It's really worth a look.

Samurai 7. Need I say more? It's just awesome. Too bad there weren't any female samurais though. Darn sexists.

Samurai Champloo. The animation's really good. And I found the hip-hop and Rap culture element really interesting too. The ending....left a lot to be desired but it was just to be expected I guess.

Green Green is completely echhi but the idea is quite nice. the drama's well made. Can't say much though. If you can't afford to waste time, then don't watch it.

Popotan has a very lighthearted storyline, and is quite a bit ecchi. But the story became quite rivetting close to the end and the idea behind it is...well...brilliant. Tells the story of a group of travellers who teleport their entire home around every now and then. Along the way they meet many people who they befriend. But at times, they get so attached that they become reluctant to leave.

Sister Princess. The animation's not that good and it does seem like the creators were really trying to force the story to accomodate the 12 sisters. But I liked the premise (perhaps cause I myself have twins and a relatively large family). The story's nice and fluffy with that cute saccharine atmosphere. I wouldn't recommend it though, unless you've got lots of time to waste (like me). As you have probably noticed, it's the inspiration for my current fanfic, Love Hina Sister Princess.

Eureka 7 is not your average mecha anime. It's got cool robots that could transform into cars (or planes) that could surf in the skies! They've got boomerangs too! Ok....enough with the fanboyish-rant (seriously, my brothers keep on going about all that). But the idea really is nice and there's this relaxed atmosphere about the anime that really contrasts the war portrayed in it. Ok, lots of people have problems with Eureka/Renton, but the main character's got to have a love interest, right? And I find Eureka's character development quite interesting too.

Chrono Crusade the anime is really well made, with plenty of action and drama. It's got a nice blend of religiousness as well as controversy. I must say I enjoyed the manga a lot more though. It didn't beat around the bush as much and it maintained the pace and tension a lot better than the anime. It tells the story of a Catholic nun specialized in exorcism who's looking for her little brother who had been abducted by a demon because of his special angelic powers, a gift from God. She pairs up with a demon she had made a contract with. The demon takes up her life force and fights on her behalf. Quite heart-touching.

Tsubasa Chronicles. Can't say much. It felt too much like your average Clamp work. I kind of stopped half-way. I might continue it again later when I get the motivation.

Solty Rey is a really nice anime. The action's good and the CG is well-made. Haven't gotten far though. It tells the story of a super-advanced female android who suffers from amnesia and is...sort of adopted by a bounty-hunter father who had lost his daughter in some sort of apocalyptic disaster. Lots of father-daughter drama here, though the father is somewhat reluctant, he still tries to care for his adopted daughter. Heart-touching in some places. Really thrilling in others.

Macross Zero is a particularly good mecha anime, with amazing CG. It's just so eye-dazzling that you can't stop. It's got a really nice blend of fantasy and sci-fi too.

The entire Gundam series. Well....what can I say? gundam is gundam.

Cowboy Bebop. Good action, and nice story too. Even though I don't really like episodic animes, Cowboy Bebop was an exception. It really had thrills and chills, comedy, action, drama, and lots more. It tells the story of a group of bounty hunters aboard a space ship named 'Bebop' who pretty much go around the solar system catching criminals for bounty.I really recommend it.

Rizelmine. Lolicon-ish plot. Lots of ecchi. But has a nice story nonetheless. BTB dragged me and Eternity-Incarnate along to watch it. It's pretty much an anime for boys. You might have noticed that Eternity-Incarnate's current fanfic, 'My Perfect Little Wife', in the Love Hina section, was inspired by Rizelmine.

Aria the animation is a masterpiece. No, it has no action. No, it has no mechas. No, it has no superheroes. Heck, no, it has no magic or anything epic. But that's what's so amazing about it. The setting's the planet Mars (yes, it's slightly sci-fi) in the far future where terraforming has left the planet covered in water. Someone had the bright idea of taking Venice from Earth (renamed ManHome) to Mars (renamed Aqua) and planting it there. Akari Mizunashi, an earthling, aspires to become an undine, a female gondolist/tour guide, and discovers many interesting things about Venice, new and old, along her journey to become a master undine. The story's really relaxed and its slow tempo can really make you fall asleep. It's nice though, and I really enjoy the atmosphere it gives out. Highly recommended, especially as a stress-reliever.

And a good many others which I'm too lazy to mention now....ok, don't look at me like that. I'm just a sad person with so much free time. So sue me. If anyone's interested in hearing more about any particular anime I mentioned, just tell me. I'll be happy to promote any of these animes.

The Negima remake is pretty decent. Great art and manga references during the seasonal OVAs. The series though kinda mixes up story bits with some original aspects and some manga aspects thrown in together. That's probably the only real weakness since it's hard to tell whether something is an actual story episode or filler.

I'm currently watching Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. A mecha series that has a lot of meat with the story and characters. Sunrise is doing a great job on production although I wish they didn't have to air a recap episode next week.

You know *everyone* seems to have this opinion, and I just don't get it, I thought the anime *much* better. Though some specific things in the manga were better, Tsuruko and Kanako, and Motoko's personality. Oh well.

As for Shuffle, yeah, the ending few episodes were quite the upset to the series.

I've been watching Black Lagoon for a month now and like it quite a lot. Thanks for the reference on The Third. That one is surprisingly good, though not very deep. Kinda reminds me of Trigun and Nausicaa, with music from Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. I'm also watching Aria and rewatching Chobits. Just finished watching Haruhi (good!) and Honey and Clover (very good!). Its good to watch interesting anime. I want to watch Planetes, even though I know its inferior to the manga but I don't often have time to read manga. I plan on watching Evangelion as I have only seen the first disk and I found it irritating then so didn't bother with the rest. Considering the high quality of fan fiction (RX7!) I think I need to give it another shot. I blame that "I Was A Teenage Dummy Plug" SI fic recommended on another thread. They were right. It is funny and well written. I usually hate SI's since they're just ego stroking for the weak minded. And finally, I am watching Yakitate Japan, Ranma 1/2, and just finished Hikaru no Go. I continue to watch episodes of Negima?! as they come out and really enjoyed Ouran High School Host Club, which just finished a month ago. I've watched other animes and haven't finished some I will probably watch more of, like Ichigo 100%, Strawberry Marshmallow, and I'm anxiously awaiting GITS: Solid State Society.

I'm still anxiously waiting more fanssubed episodes of Eyeshield21 (the manga is just not enough).

Started up on Chevalier D'Eon loving the story and animation quality; and still waiting for the end of Tsubasa Chronicle 2nd season (arrrgh... the drama!!!).

Not minding that filler season for Bleach (I think it was rather well done, considering the best od the story is still to come)

Still wondering if/when Aa! Megami-sama: Sorezore no Tsubasa (aka: 2nd season) will soon come out with those 4 episodes in DVD (ripped) format to finish off the season, and clue into the next season.

Havent finished acquiring/watching Raxephon... and wondering when i'll have the chance to ^_^;

I still have Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Free Knight (aka tv series) still waiting for me in it's nice box set for it to be watch, right along side Youre Under Arrest 3rd season box set.

And i cant forget to mention the violent goodness of Black Lagoon 2nd Barrage just watched the episode with the kids.... bloody weirdoes!

Let's see. The new Negima!? series is great, episodes 5 & 6 just came out. it's very different from the manga or the previous anime, but really fun and entertaining anyway. The sheer randomness of a lot of it reminds me of FLCL.

I went back and watched Iria: Zeiram the Animation recently. very old OAV, but really good. A hyperviolent sci-fi anime reminiscent of Alien.

the Steel Angel Kurumi DVDs are sitting on my TV right now. I've finished the first two. I really like the english voice actors. They did a incredibly good job on that series, about 300% better than I've come to expect from dubbers.

Someone told me about a show called Futakoi, and I checked it out, only to be bored out of my mind. I confronted him, and he told me to find the alternative. Futakoi Alternative is a similar concept (multiple pairs of twins are involved in the story), but where the original story was a puppy love story featuring a 13 year old boy, Alternative features a 21 year old private detective who's on the run from the Yakuza, his twin assisstants who love him and explosives, and a pair of paramilitary monster hunting twins. And that's just the first episode. Very fun show.

Kasimasi-Girl meets girl- was interesting. I only have seen the first couple episodes, and I kinda like it, basically, a spaceship falls from the sky and crushes a young (very androgynous) man who was hiding in the mountains after being rejected by his school crush. The alien inside repairs his body, but for some reason, has to make him a girl to do so. There are interesting secondary characters, and it seems the show is going for a lesbian love triangle between the neo-girl, her tomboy friend, and her crush.

Oh, and I watched a little Azumanga Daioh the other day. Gotta get my cute fix.

Hmmm... well, I've not watched too much since I finished off Shuffle, and rewatched Escaflowne.

I have watched episodes 1 and 2 of 'History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi'. Boy if that is not a hoot. Catchy opening as well as a decent story. I love Mui (sp?). The manga is pretty good as well, I've read up through chapter 41. I'd love to see a Ranma cross with this series (anime or manga version), or perhaps Full Metal Panic, or Cheeky Angel.

Aaah...Futakoi Alternative. I can't tell you how much I loved it. The comedy and action was so well done. It has that distinct Gainax style of anime making.

Rozen Maiden and its sequel, Traumend, are great. Yes, they're all about dolls, but the story's so heart touching, especially traumend. The sequel's coming out soon. I think the title's Rozen Maiden Ouverture or something like that. All about Suigintou.

Magikano is a nice anime to pass the time with. Unfortunately, I got one with really crappy subtitles but it wasn't too bad. Tells the story of a guy (very Urashima Keitaro like) who lives with 3 sisters and is suddenly landed with a female sorceress who needs his powers to release herself from a curse.

Trinity Blood is, without a doubt, a really well made anime. The action isn't bad but it's the story concept that makes it so great. Vampire uprisings versus the Vatican with the Vampire empires in the mix. It tells the story of a priest named Abel Nightroad who is pretty much the Vatican's arm in vampire affairs. Won't say more lest I spoil too much.

I watched a bit of azumanga daoih at one point but the slow pace threw me off a bit, especially cause I was going through Cowboy Bebop at the same time so I kind of threw it aside in favour of Bebop. Maybe I'll take it up again later on.

Soul Link is ok-ish. It's from the creators of Shuffle and again it's based on a game. It's a sci fi anime with plenty of drama and some action. It tells the story of a group of space cadets who're trapped aboard a military space station when a group of terrorists hijack it to launch a nuclear attack on earth.

I hear Infinite Ryvius is quite good and I got the DVDs off a friend but unfortunately the DVDs were such low quality that I decided to forget about it....well, at least until I can find a decent copy. It tells the story of, yes, a group of space cadets whose space station suddenly loses all communications and the adults in charge all die. It's basically The Lord of the Flies out in space with the kids trying to fight for survival while some take the opportunity to gain power.

So the Negima remake is good? That's good to know. I'll be sure to look out for it. I'm mostly in bed these days, hence the large amount of free time. It's pretty much the animes, mangas, and fanfiction that keep me company. You can never get tired of anime. Haha.

Trinity Blood is great so far, but Abel Nightroad seems very similar to Vash from Trigun from what I've seen. I like Vash, so Abel's not bad, but I'm withholding judgement until I see more.

Abel and Vash are very similar as far the nice guy persona goes. The whole dark past thing is also very similar. Only, the degree of clumsiness is quite different and Abel actually proves that he can take care of formal affairs when he needs to. He's also, more often than not, very serious in battle, as opposed to Vash who makes a complete fool out of himself (on purpose?) when the poop hits the fan, fearing that if he unleashes his full potential he'd end up killing innocent lives and so on.

Another thing, Abel doesn't flirt. That's one of the big differences. He's a priest for heaven's sake. Vash, meanwhile, seems to swoon for every single beautiful woman he sees, not to mention they always seem to cloud his judgement.
