Just finished the first 2 episodes of "Babylon 5". A really old show, but I find the plot good. Didn't really understand the different races and the interactions as a "background", but the show did a really good job of filling me in.

Where did you find those eps? I have been searching everywhere for this show.
Sent you a PM. Umm.. is it really that hard? Like, have you tried the usual ... less "hospitable" places?

Yes. Yes it is very hard to find those eps.

Well, waay back in the fall I started DVRing Agents of Shield, but never actually watched anything beyond the pilot.

Then I saw Winter Soldier.

Now I'm about 4 episodes in so wish me luck! So far I'm liking how each episode has a Stinger sort of thing at the end, and the series as a whole seems workable, decent in general with a few shining moments here and there. Only time will tell if I feel the same way when I get to the end of the season.

Be sure to differentiate between the Babylon 5 pilot, and the series season 1 first episodes.

As a Babylon 5 fan, it is important I point out to you that the premier pilot episode was done over a year before the series, and as such a number of things changed in details, but not in overall perspective.

Biggest change is probably the fact actress Claudia Christian (as character Ivonova) replaced the second in command that was in the Pilot.

It is a good series, I love it dearly I not only have the series on DVD, I still have my Security and Tech Manuals and some novels. But its one flaw is that unlike Star Trek, it is *not* episodic format... it is soap opera format.

What that means here is that if you watch this series, it is vitally critical you watch it *in order*, or you will not understand what is occurring. With Star Trek, with exceptions, like the DS9 Dominion war arc, you can afford to skip around and it is not too bad, that will not work here.

FYI

Sinclar is commander in pilot and Season 1

Sheriden is commander for Season 2-4

Lockley is commander for Season 5

That's ... actually a good point in my book. It means that the episodes actually have an impact to the overall story. One the reasons, I like to think that Game of Thrones is so compelling.

it slowly picks up speed as the season goes along and is definitely hitting its stride at around episode 10.

That said, having just watched the most recent episode, I have one question. Which I will phrase as to not reveal anything.

Does Ward still have the hard drive with all of information from the Bus on it?

From the previews of the next episode? Yes. And seriously, never saw that coming.

Just finished watching the first 2 episodes of season 4.

Have to say, THAT was disappointing. Sure, it's nice that "king joffery" died, but due to poisioning? And the guy who poured his cup is accused? I smell a setup. What's most bothersome, is ...

well, that was too sweet a death for that "king". There should have been more pain involved. And not some random accusation against his "killer".

Do we have a dedicated thread for this show? Not the books, just a spoiler-free thread for the TV show?

Chronodekar, I believe that a development at the end of episode 2 is appropriate.

Sure, knives would be more satisfying, but that's not how the GoT setting works.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say that GRRM likes them juice tins as much as I do :p

Don't get me wrong - I'm smirking over his death too. But, in the end, it looks like he got the last laugh - by pointing to his uncle, he dies knowing that someone (not necessarily his murderer) will get some kind of punishment.

I hope the midget will be able to get out of this tangle.

I've been watching Fast 'n Loud recently because it's great.

I've also started watching Brew Dogs, because Scottish brewers strolling around the US to create new beers is great.

The Hannibal finale.

I'm looking forward to the next season.

I do like the fact that they're working on 13 episode seasons, since that cuts out the filler episodes and keeps the storytelling tight.

Which is something I could learn from.

Saw the season finale of Penny Dreadful. Can't say there was anything remotely surprising in there, including the "twist" in the epilogue. It's an okay show but it felt more like a TV version of LXG than true gothic horror.

I caught the first episode of Manhattan today.

It's a drama about the Manhattan project and the race to build the atomic bomb.

I liked it and will be watching future episodes.

Just powered through all the episodes of Supernatural, and I loved the shit out of that show. To me, it was literally the show that Joss Whedon was trying to make but utterly failed to do.
