Bleach What if Ryuken was female?

We don't know that much about how Isshin and Masaki met, but what if they didn't, and Ryuken (Ryuko?) was born female. They met in medical school, fell in love, and married, having two sons and two daughters.

The end result is Uryu and Ichigo training as Quincy, and having the prodigious stores of natural spiritual energy Ichigo has canonically.

Things start diverging wildly once they meet Rukia. ;)

Meh. Ryuken in canon doesn't seem to be any more fond of shinigami than his son was to begin with. I can't see this changing; his core attitude of "the dead do not pay the bills" would not be affected.

I doubt it. While Karin can see ghosts, neither her nor Yuzu are implied to have the absolutely massive amount of power Ichigo does. However Ichigo has the power he does, it comes from more than simply having a Shinigami as a parent. Hell, it could just be random chance as far as how much power they're born with goes, but that still means that it would be highly unlikely Uryu would be rape-stomping the highest level hollow we've seen just by becoming a hollow himself. Byakuya was born as a Shinigami too, but he has nowhere near the level of raw power Ichigo does within him.

Of course, that's ignoring the fact that neither Ichigo nor Uryu would even exist in this case. Ichigo = Isshin + Masaki + Random Chance?, and Uryu = Ryuuken + Unnamed Mother + Random Chance?.

Except that Isshin's abandoned the dead in favor of the living, and they're friends in canon.

Ichigo and/or Ishida might not even get Hollowfied; massive internal power + Quincy power = pwnage.

1) Neither Ichigo nor Uryu would exist.

2) You missed my point entirely. Ichigo raped Ulq as a hollow because he has massive power within him that he was never using until he hollofied. Karin and Yuzu don't, which means being Isshin's son doesn't automatically give you massive amounts of power. Being Ichigo does.

3) You have no idea what you're talking about. Quincy techniques are used by gathering the reiatsu in the atmosphere instead of from within. Wasting time learning and mastering the Quincy technique when possessing a massive amount of reiatsu would be counter productive and just generally stupid. The Quincy method of utilising reiatsu is the literal opposite to the one that allows Ichigo to use his own spiritual energy.

And having more reiatsu means they can draw in more reiatsu, as well as being generally more capable, due to not having the limits that fucked Uryu up after he pulled the glove off. He'd probably be capable of sustaining that level of power indefinately, if not improving it. They might well defeat the Arrancar by disintegrating them and absorbing the spirit particles that compose their bodies.

As to neither of them existing... handwave. The story might be AU, and even if Ichigo and Uryu's exact genetics are different, they still might have wound up roughly the same, accounting for the differences in upbringing. :p

I'm done. You're either an idiot or a troll. Either way this is pointless.

How, exactly, am I trolling?

If I had to take a guess I'd say it was a collage.

Quincy don't use spirit energy like that. They don't even touch their own spiritual powers. They don't need to, because they use the power around them.

The Shinigami are like Sorcerers, Warlocks, or Monks in D&D. Their power comes from within. They learn to harness and tap the wells of power within, and expand and deepen those wells with training.

The Quincy are like Jedi. Their power comes from without. They let the ambient spirit energy in the world flow through them, and learn to control that, using it to create weapons fuel their own special brand of techniques.

It would literally serve no point for a Quincy to possess large stores of personal spiritual energy. They would never use it.

Well, the initial idea for this is crap, but Ryuken as a female has a lot of potential.

Why do I say that?

Well...

On the one hand Ichigo wouldn't be teased for his hair. On the other hand he would be teased for his ugly mother.

A little RPG between The-Ero-Sennin and myself:

Ichigo: *gawks in shock* ... Ishida... That's your mom?!
Uryu: Yeah. She's a bitch tho.
Ichigo: How come?
Uryu: No clue, some women are just like that.

*Flashback*

Isshin: Sorry Ryu-chan... I can't have sex with you without Masaki. It just wouldn't feel right, you know?
Isshin: A sandwich has three parts, not two.
Ryu-chan: DIE IN A FIRE!
Isshin: ARRRGGHHH! P-Passionate as always, Ryu-chan!

*End Flashback*

Ichigo: Wait, wait... This is all the OLD MAN'S fault?! ... Somehow I'm not that surprised...
Uryu: So that's the jackass who made Mom hate all men.
Isshin: Ah, Son, you must understand, Ryu-chan is a woman with very specific needs, and I don't have the stamina to keep up with her anymore... So... MAKE ME PROUD, SON! *He throws Ichigo at her*
Ichigo: Wha-UWAAAAHHHH!
*WHAM!*
Ichigo: Uhhh... Hi.
Ryu-chan: Hmmm... A little young, but he can be trained... *forms a whip out of spirit particles*
Ichigo: *gulps*
