What (manga) are you reading?

I'm going to start reading Bleach again, after a bit of a dry spell. I stopped reading Naruto around chapter 230-something (just pre-timeskip) and just cannot summon the will (or masochistic curiosity) to put myself through the post-timeskip stuff.

I'm reading Samurai Deeper Kyo at the minute, just before that I was rereading Full Metal Panic. For romance-without-guns-'n'-mechs, I'm flicking through Ichigo 100%.

Pondering picking up the Appleseed manga, as it's currently way cheaper than it was the last time I checked.

For some reason, I just bought the three volumes of .hack//Legend of the Twilight.

guess the .Hack (game) series affected me more than I though to get them.

Right now, I'm catching back up with AirGear again. Still fun, and Simca's still as hotly distracting as ever.

Other than that, browsing through older Berserk volumes at random and re-reading Blame whenever the mood strikes me. I like Killy, he's badass. He needs to be crossed into some sort of cyberpunk story/sci-fi story at some point in time. Hmm ... I wonder who I can bribe to do a Blame/Vandread fic. Or maybe Blame/Gunnm.

I just today obtained a copy of Murder Princess and it blew me away. If you're not familiar with it, the Kingdom of Forland faces a coup at the hands of Professor Akamashi. However, Princess Alita escapes and falls into the company of a bounty hunter named Falis - and by 'falls' I mean off a cliff and by 'company' I mean cranium to cranium collision... which swaps their souls between their bodies.

The thing is... they both fit their new roles very well - Falis is just the sort of butt-kicking bitch that can take and hold the throne (think Princess Serenity with a katana and blood red eyes), while Alita seems remarkably comfortable taking on the role of the Princess's maid. Meanwhile efforts are being made to restore them to their proper places but through the various crises thus far I have to wonder if they're happier with things as they are.

That's what I'm reading. The character, despite being unable to use magic in a magic school, manages to pass himself off as the Strongest Student, with a mixture of physical ability, quick planning, and sheer luck. Even his entrance into the school was an accident, triggering the misunderstanding in the first place.

Due to the controversy over it, I'm currently reading Kodomo no Jikan, though so far I can only find scanlations of the first five chapters (anyone who knows where to find more, help would be appreciated!).

It's a rather cute manga, and with much loli-esque naughtiness. It's not a true lolicon manga, and people in the know say it's a parody of such manga, but while there's nothing truly explicit, it really does seem like it's shaping into something of a love story between the two main characters (Rin, a third-grader, and her teacher Aoki-sensei).

Well...

I got Evangelion volumn 10 the other day from rightstuf, and plan on reading it either tonight, or tomorrow.

Also Evangelion related, about 15minutes ago, I found out 'Ikari Shinji Ikusei Keikaku' by AT-Translations was updated to volumn 1 chapter 5. I have it, but not started reading yet.

I've been reading Eden by Hiroki Endo, a superb seinen. Set in a future ravaged by a terrible virus, the story mainly follows Elijah Ballade, the son of a south-american druglord in his struggle to live in a godforsaken world. Whether the action happens on a battlefield or in a whorehouse, Endo strives to give his characters depth, of spirit, of motivation, of belief. In short, to give them souls.

And he succeed admirably.

If you've liked Akira, Gunnm or Ghost in the Shell, read this one, you'll love it.

Last manga I read, well, I believe it is Bleach.

That and, Ah! My Goddess, and Fullmetal Alchemist. The latter I spent a marathon session catching up. Helps that the series is a monthly series, and so, not as many chapters as say, Bleach. Granted, the chapters are also longer, but still...

Hmm... I'm currently enjoying Initial D. I'd started trying to read the official version last year, but it seemed off somehow. When I did a little background work, I found that a number of things had been changed from the original - not least of which is the main characters name being... uh... tweaked.

The scanlation I'm reading at the minute is much more enjoyable. ^_^

Although someone needs to do some basic doublechecking of models and manufacturers. Nissan Silvia does not translate to Siruba. Nor does Toyota become Toyoto. I know translating from Japanese can be perilous and fraught with many different versions of the same word, but come on. Cars are easy to check if you have an internet and a wikipedia.
