What you didn't Know about Music

You know, I've taken to watching Todd in the Shadows mainly because I tend to learn interesting and unexpected things about songs and the people that produce them. Case in point, AHA and the song 'Take on Me'.

I recall 'Take on Me' but I did not know that band had such a long career in Europe (which likely means I need to pay less attention to the American music scene and start looking overseas). I mean the guys lasted until 2010, that's a pretty good run.

Then there's Chumbawumba - 'Tub Thumping'.

.....I did not know they were anarchist with a sense of humor....that had a 30 year long career.....huh the things you learn.

So it got me to thinking, what other things am I missing? What groups and songs do you all recommend to the poor American stuck with....."artist"....that are packages and pimped out by recording labels?
