I'm curious what people consider some of the most shocking plot twists in anime/manga history. For me, four come to mind:
Kamille's fate in Zeta Gundam. In a series known for killing off almost its entire cast, to see the writers come up with something arguably worse for the main character was very shocking to me.
Aizen being revealed as the real villain way back in the day. It's taken for granted now, but back when it happened there was literally no warning at all.
Kamina's death in Gurren Lagann, mainly because prior to that he'd been played up as the protagonist of the series.
and my biggest shocking twist:
Lelouch has led Cyborange-kun into a trap. To Lelouch's shock and horror, even being immobilized doesn't stop the assassin from advancing for the kill. Only to fall to a knee and declare his LOYALTY. Definitely the biggest left turn in a series with more of them than the average NASCAR race.
