So, I've written three chapters so far of this Lucky Star fanfic called Starbound, which is about the main characters going on some kind of Earthbound-style adventure. I've got a few things planned out for the long-term, but not much for the short-term.

Got two friends who are currently helping me with it, but I'm gonna need better help with coming up with stuff. One of them thought of something to make happen for the fourth chapter, but it is currently way too similar to the Sharks storyline from Earthbound. That's not what I want; I want most of the story to be as different from Earthbound and Earthbound Zero as they are from each other.
My other friend is a mostly capable writer and storybuilder, but when she gave me an outline, it focused mostly on the party's struggles, defeats, and victories that would take place in the future against their enemies. Nothing about actual specific events that would take place apart from battles.
Could anyone suggest someone to get in touch with, or somewhere to find storybuilding help from? I'd appreciate that.
