So whoever's got it, is it worth to get it right away? I just figured that I can't upgrade my account online, and I actually have to buy the retail box, so I'm sort of peeved. I don't want to pay sales tax here in the US, so I'm thinking of buying it from newegg.com or some other place that's cheaper and will come in a week.

So do I need to get it right away or wait till someone gives it to me?

I'm waiting till tomorrow to pick up my copy. Hopefully the stores near here won't be sold out (which I don't think the bigger retailers will, but you never know).

Plenty at my local Target.

Of course, it was also at full price. But meh.

Tried out a few things. Went to Northrend with my 70 (another one was on a server that was locked, the the queue was like, 300 people or so). And of course, 'had' to try out the Death Knight.

Death Knight is fun.

But it's obvious, EVERYONE wants to try them out. Damn. I haven't seen so many people in one area.

PIcked up my copy this morning and am just finishing installing it now (stupid thing wanted to patch again, had to go grab my backup patches...)

Going to be interesting to play around with it. I grabbed the strategy guide as well and was reading it on the train on the way home. Only read a bit but some of the changes made seem pretty cool. Nothing earth shattering but still pretty neat. And yeah its going to be fun to play around with the Death Knight. That will probably be the second fully leveled character (after my current Shaman).

Well, I'm playing casually, so I'm lvl 55 after... 3 months. At this rate, it'll be another month before I can even think of going to Northrend.

Well, I did send my two 70s to Northrend. Though I didn't do a lot of leveling yet for either given that, well, I was having fun leveling the Death Knight.

With most other people that logged on it seemed. <_<

Truthfully, I probably won't be using the Death Knight that much. Just wanted to see what they were like.

Well, the Best Buy near me had a whopping 400+ copies in stock, so I was able to get my hands on one, and I'm waiting on the re-patches right now. Its stupid that it doesn't reuse the patches that you already downloaded.

Once I'm done, I'm gonna start a death knight, and then be playing them for a while.

Last night someone got the first lvl 80 on my realm, i thought 2 days was a little quick.
They must not have left the game at all.

Someone on our realm got it last night at midnight. On a different server, a person would have gotten it within 13 hours had the Blizzard Ban-hammer not come down on them. The guy had gotten to 79 before Blizzard decided what they were doing was considered exploitation. So he got banned (which they later removed) and his character got reset to lvl 70.

Someone on an European server got to 80 after 27 hours of straight playing. Holy shit. They have no life...

Well, it's not quite so insane if you consider that some of these people played the beta, so they already knew how to do the quests, where to do them, and didn't stop to read text or anything. Once they got out of the starter zones, and didn't have to worry about fighting for mobs and quest objectives like in starter zones, it gets easier and easier to level for those who had beta access because there's less wait on mobs. We already have four level 80s on my server, with two 79s on the way there. Which is still a bit insane, but not quite as insane as if there had been no beta.

Still, starter zones are full of annoyances so they were smart to get them out of the way as soon as possible.

My biggest complaint so far is all the people that just -camp- around or on top of questgivers, not only alliance since misclicking calls guards on you...but also all those goddamn mounted tauren fatasses. >_<

Well, that, and people 'stealing' quest items. While, yeah, I know it's perfectly legit to do so, I find it horribly annoying when, hey, I'm dealing with 4-6 enemy mobs around a quest item, because it has a few second cast bar to get it, and can't get it if I'm getting hit, so I need to clear the mobs around it. In runs in someone else, and grabs it, and leaves me with all the mobs.

Worse, I can't even use concecrate because a lot of times, people run in with their -own- mobs, and I grab threat on them when they run in, meaning I end up killing them for them. So not only did I lose a lot of health/mana and possibly a pot trying not to die, I killed something for someone else getting no exp, and didn't get the quest objective for that matter.

Lots of people seem to just also let you do the work on a mob for them, just doing the initial damage so they can loot it. I can thankfully return the favor because most of my spells are instant casts as a shockadin, though. And if I happen to do it accidently, I at least 'apologize' of sorts by tossing the person healing and a buff.

But it gets really annoying when someone does it to you on a mob that respawns only once every 5+ minutes and there's other people trying to get it too. And a lot of people don't want to group, which is dumb because, hey, less competition for the mob that everyone's on.

Still, overall, I'm liking the expansion, since a lot of the quests are really fun, and new areas to explore, and for every twenty assholes, I'm meeting one new person that I can quest with for a while and add to my friends' list.

Plus, get to see some hilarious bugs, like the two tauren mounted on top of two kodos mounted on top of a two-seater mount. That was so freaking awesome, I was laughing for a full minute after watching that.

Yeah. A lot of the quest are fun.

Too bad it's clear I need to upgrade my computer. I mean, *tons of people leveling* takes a heavy toll on my very limited memory resource.

*checks the system requirements again*

512 mb of RAM minimum. 1 gig of RAM recommended. <_< More like 2-4 gigs. :headbanger:

Grats Ike. personaly im about half way to 71 at this point. can't really find it in me to give much of a damn. Player attitudes have pretty much killed any excitement i had for the expansion. Between kill stealers, Ninja looters, and general Asshatery, I've found my self contemplating canceling my subscription for 2 months and letting all the crap die down. I've actualy spent most of the time since the expansion working on my lower level characters. It's sad im finding that more fun than the expansion, but not much you can do about it.

Yeah, I figured I'd wait a few days for it to die down before attempting to level my 70s. Instead I started a DK. Surprisingly, I'm not having much trouble leveling (although I'm keeping my normal somewhat slow pace, at 62 now). Even though there's tons of DKs, I've only had trouble getting quests done like once or twice.

Congrats on the 80, by the way, Ike.

I'll be honest, I haven't been updating my 70s that much (I have 2). Part of it has to do with factors like, well real life (I have a quiz tomorrow), one is on a full server, so the queue lines are long, the fact there are a ton of people leveling means getting a quest item/kill takes work... and the most pressing, my RAM issue (which relates to the billions leveling at the same time problem).

I'll probably get my Pally to 65 (not my Bloodscalp Pally. That one would be lucky to hit 50 anytime soon. :p) before I hit even 71.

And Death Knights are fun... but of the three I made (on each of the servers I have a 55 or greater), I played till I got out of the starting zone. And that's it. :p

Naxx is fun.

4horsemen takes retarded coordination in 10 man, and even a slight amount of vent chatter ruins it.

Gothik was a pain who got 2shotted.

Globbulus got 3shotted, because people panic-ran to the wrong places with their injections.

But yeah, Naxx is fun.

..........I hate my life. Circumstances have conspired so that I don't have Ann to 71 yet. Ah well, at least I'll get a loooooong enjoyment period out of Northrend, eh?

Got my copy at midnight for 10 percent off the regular price at a local Gamestop. It's nice to know people in high places. =D

I have to say, this is probably the longest break I have had with WoW. Most due to real life, but, also, don't have any 'huge' rush to get to 80 either. It's fun and all but, I think I've broken my WoW addiction. :unsure!:

Though just enough to catch up on anime, mangas, fanfics...

I'll get to 80 eventually. I haven't stopped completely. But I'm no longer, well, you could say fanatical about it either.

In other news, I've pretty much abandoned Bloodscalp. The Horde players there are pretty unhelpful, which ruins the MMO experience for me, so my belf mage will probably be collecting dust forever.

Having a hell of a lot of fun with my Draenei tankadin on Stormreaver, though. Will probably create a DK there once my level gets high enough.

My death knight is awesome. I'm now 65, and have only done HFP, Zangarmarsh, and a little bit of Terokkar. I'll probably hit 68 before I get done with Nagrand at this rate. They really cut down the leveling speed down for 60-70.

Also got my paladin up a level finally, to 71. Took much longer than I was expecting (although I shouldn't have been expecting it to go that fast, since I wasn't even playing her very much, having too much fun on my DK).

I haven't been playing my Bloodscalp characters. So for the longest time, she's been collecting dust for a while.

Ironically, I've been playing on the old 'TFF' server more. While I moved my Draenei Retardin (formerly Tankadin before 3.0.2) to another server, I've been playing what used to be a little used alt on Darrowmere instead. My Human Rogue (now the Defacto main on that server). Now at 34 (for the longest time, she was 16 when I nearly completely abandoned the server). It's like I gave her a new hairdo (thanks to 3.0.2), and bam, made me play her more. :p

My 70s are still at 70. That probably won't change anytime soon as I've reduced my playing time on WoW in general.
