Can you guys offer any advice on Gruul's Lair?
Do we have to fight the first boss to finish the raid or can we scoot past him? Frankly, I'd skip it, except I really want to be able to say I've completed all of the pre-Cata raid content at some point.
Because we tried taking the first boss on, and I'm not sure if it's a bug or what, but the mage would constantly re-sheep my poor druid friend after he'd break out of it using the shapeshift trick.
I tried focus-firing the healer, but Strangulate doesn't seem to work properly and he seemed to get off Power Word:Shield and other spells even after I'd Brain Freeze or Arcane Torrent him silent.
It's the first time I've wiped on raid content since my first few failed attempts at Molten Core solo (either the freaking Molten Hounds that kept rezzing if you didn't kill them all within 10 seconds of each other, and the damage dealt by Baron Geddon's knock-up were just frustrating.).
In fact, I'd like to note that Strangulate didn't work properly on ANY of the casters in Magtheridon's Lair either, and Blizzard is a bunch of dicks for sticking Death Coil as a standard spell for all of the casters outside of Magtheridon's room.
Seriously, that is a MAJOR dick move and only serves to add artificial difficulty to the raid.
oh, and to help keep advice relevant (since it wouldn't help me to get a bunch of advice that's aimed at rogues, hunters or warriors), I'm a Blood Tank-spec DK and my raid buddy is rolling a Resto Druid.
