I don't think it's a bad idea in principle, but there's a lot of ways to avoid yaoi in general and Naruto yaoi more specifically. 1. Use the character filters. You may miss a good story or two, however thanks to method 2. check through trusted/able authors profiles and favorite stories, you'll get enough good things to keep you distracted while you're reading. Maybe.

However, I think that this kind of a topic could be used for something else, like say... warning people that a 150,000 word (presently) rewrite starting at Naruto's gennin exam with 100% no hints(!) will suddenly turn into nothing but rampant surprise buttsecks wouldn't be a bad idea. As is, I think it's very much too general, especially when time spent checking this thread could be spent looking for more stories if you're just listing everything that isn't summary marked as yaoi.

Since I've actually seen warnings that a story isn't yaoi, it would probably be a lost cause. Filters are the best way to avoid this shit as mentioned. Though not always. In Naru/Hina filter, there was a Naru/Sasu and Hina/Neji fic. It was labeled as such, but it shouldn't be labeled as those characters. Another good way to avoid shit is to use the length filter, at least 40k words, though 60k or more would be better. Most shit fics never get that long so it's a good way to avoid them. The final option is to use C2's. Many of them are dedicated to either certain pairings, or types of stories. A bunch also ban yaoi from being in them.

My personaly Favorite was reading a HP story, and the author says he detests slash stories, and that this won't be. Then I read about 120k words, then it starts talking about Harry kissing and sleeping with Neville and saying crap like we aren't gay, love is just a word for those who limit their emotions, or some crap like that. Very disappointing let me tell you. Actually it would be nice, if someone reported to ff.net, about restriction or a search for slash stories so when you are searching through the millions of stories, you can say, hmmm today I don't want to read crap. So lets check this box so we do not have to look/see/imagine/read any crappy slash stories.

As a add on to this when searching for something with a desire for a fic above 25,000 words rather than the 20 thousand from the pull down bar you can edit the search critearia in the URL bar.

These examples use the Ranma section

20,000 and up can be seen here:
http://www.fanfiction.net/l/93/3/0/1/1/20/0/0/0/0/1/

25,000 can be seen here:
http://www.fanfiction.net/l/93/3/0/1/1/25/0/0/0/0/1/

All word length can be seen here:
http://www.fanfiction.net/l/93/3/0/1/1/0/0/0/0/0/1/

The lowest posible word count will equel the number you put in times 1,000 as long as it is a whole number.
