No network affiliation or release date has been announced, but WB is making it and it's no longer just a rumor.

My main concern is that it's a whole new streaming service I may have to pay for, and I'm not sure it's worth it for just one show that I actually care about.

That's exactly why it bodes poorly.

Netflix was safe. Netflix already had a user base that cared enough about the show to get it revived. However, how many of those are going to make the jump and how many are going to wait until the show inevitably arrives on Netflix? For the matter, how long until the show becomes available on Netflix?
