Hmmm... I know my own 2nd shot was a automatic apt of 3 weeks after the first one. My one brother got the moderna and they told him to come in 3 weeks later as well, my other brother got the Pfizer and same thing.

As for a receipt... they actually gave me a vacination card with a stamp on it, and was warned I needed to bring that to the 2nd shot to get a 2nd stamp & to have the card updated.

Had my first dose this afternoon. I had the Oxford AstraZeneca and will have my second dose in August.

A strange thing happened to me involving a old garden hose I'm trying to sell. A couple of days ago, we got a new hose to water our plants and me, in a spirit of commerce, decided to try selling the old thing instead of throwing it in the garbage.

And so, I listed it on the equivalent of craigslist for $2 CAD. My intention was to give it away for free, if anyone asked. To my surprise, someone contacted me (via Private Message) a day after listing the item. To para-phrase the exchange,

Code:
Potential Buyer (PB): Hi chronodekar, I am interested in this. Are there any leaks on it. You can let me know.
Me: hose itself does not have a leak, but the attachment at the end which connects to the tap is loose water does leak from that point.
PB: That is fine because I want to extend my hose so can cut off that part and connect to my one. Can you measure it and let me know the exact length please.
I had no idea how long the old hose was. Since this fellow appeared interested, I went outside with some measuring tape, stretched out the hose and figured out that it was between 30 - 35 feet in length.

Code:
Me: I just measured the hose it is a bit longer than 30 feet in length.
PB: Thanks. You mean it is little above 30 feet. May be below 35 feet. Just let me know.
Me: Yes; a little above 30 feet, but below 35 feet.
PB: Thanks. Please send me the pickup address. Also is this a rubber hose.
Me: it is a rubber hose. You are willing to buy it at the listed price?
Me: when can you come?
PB: Depending on your location.
Me: <gives address>
PB: Thanks. I live in <next-city-away>. I can get one of my friend living in <near-your-address> who works me to pickup. Is that o.k. by you.
Me: As long as your friend pays for the item, I'm fine with it. When can he/she come?
PB: I don't have friends who cannot pay you 2/00 bucks man.
Me: ok.
PB: Not interested in dealing with you any more.
Me: alright. you never agreed to buy the item either.
I'm wondering to myself, if this fellow got insulted? Or perhaps he truly did not have any friends who could loan him $2 bucks? Just baffling. Like, when I see an interesting item, I reach out to the seller, first asking if they would be willing to sell it for a little less. In some cases, they've told me yes, in other cases no. This particular exchange, the fellow made me work to measure the hose but never committed anything. :(

I pulled the listing down a few hours ago and re-listed the hose for $10. Perhaps someone else will find it useful. Heck, I'll still give it for free if anyone bothers to ask, but comes to pick it up! (for price comparison, the new replacement 50 foot hose cost me about $18).

So it's the morning after the first jab and I feel cold and tired. Like I've got some cold. I had about 11 hours sleep, though it was interrupted, but even if I wasn't recovering from a vaccine's side effects, I'd probably still feel tired. Fortunately, I booked today off work and so have a four day weekend to recover and potentially write something.

Plan of action for the day: Drink lots of tea and water, hot water bottle on the lap and youtube videos.

My friends are planning to go to the pub later, but I'm tentatively declining thanks to how I feel right now.

Huh, that's way worse than what I got from the same vaccine.

Compared to you though, I'm an old fogey.

The chills have subsided a little, but still going to be chugging tea like it's the secret to eternal life.

AoMythology is Greek. Which means he wants the Elgin Marbles back, but that ain't happening, lest they turn up on eBay to pay off the Greek national debt :p

Ah, so the poor people of Europe then. I can see why he might be jealous of the Brits now.

Hahaha, there's the British humour we know and love! :)

I mean, if you drink tea every day, I might just need to pity you, instead.
(Note that I don't hate tea, but every day? Naaahh!)

To be fair I drink more coffee than tea. about 12 cups a day or so. But then, I am from Scotland.

Well, in Greece, most people drink way too much coffee, too. I never saw the appeal; tea is better and cold/hot chocolate even better.

That's two things you have in common with James Bond.
Is that a reference to Sir Sean Connery?

(Even here in Greece, people who are old enough to have watched those films tend to only accept him as the 'real James Bond'. Including my mother, haha.)

It's canon that James Bond prefers coffee over tea and Ian Fleming was so impressed with Sean Connery's performance as Bond that he changed the backstory so that Bond was of Scottish heritage.

As far as James Bond's go:
Connery>Brosnan>Moore>Dalton>Craig

Beware of Dog. Cat not trustworthy either.

Not unexpected since you've already had the bug and lived (barely, from what you described). For the two-dose vaccines, the second one is almost always "worse" because your body recognizes it and wages all out war. For those folks who already had the bug, whether they knew it or not, the first shot is like the second one is for the rest of the recipients. I have no idea how bad the second one will be for you. I would suspect be prepared for the second one to be just as bad.

It seems like he was playing you. Made you jump through hoops and then found a reason to back out. Some sad souls get off on those sort of things...

In my old age I have repeatedly experienced the axiom of, "No good deed goes unpunished."

I haven't actually seen On Her Majesty's Secret Service, so I can't say one way or the other.

Lovely. That's going to make for a nice weekend in August.

But on the plus side, I did manage to write something yesterday. Friday's are not a usual writing day for me for some reason.
