Not a temp agency, but a few years ago, I left one job for another. Then I got a recruiter email asking if I was willing to work at my old workplace, not realising I had just left from there. Whoops, that's what happens when you don't really read resumes :O

Bought my first business class flight on a plane ever. Was only about $130 USD more on a 3.5 hour flight, and I get lounge access as well.

The laptop I've been using for roughly the last three years started acting up, including heating up the chassis near the track pad. I sent it in to be repaired, and was told it would cost more to fix it then I paid for it. Now I'm on the hunt for an affordable replacement. Fun times.

If you have the budget for it, there is a new "framework" laptop that got released. People say it is built to be repair-able = https://frame.work/ca/en Admittedly, the DIY is not for everyone, but they seem to have a pre-assembled one too.

Though I still have to do the paperwork and everything, I am now the newest TFF homeowner!

Bungalow. 1160 square feet up top, and another 550 square feet of living space in the basement area. Nice upscale neighborhood, literally five blocks down from an elementary school. I got 1.4% floating rate and could lock in at 2.19% for 5 years.

I live in the part of Canada that isn't screwed over on housing prices so purchase price was less than 3x my yearly wage (or 2x my yearly gross including my overtime hours).

As PCHeintz said, congrats! Sounds like a nice home.

I'm waiting for my credit to improve, but I should be moved into an actual house next year. And one I'll be buying instead of renting.

Yeah! It's looking closer and closer to settled after the inspection.

If you ever drive west along the TransCanada you could stay at my place!

Ugh... save me from the stupid stuff in the news...

I just read windmills are dangerous because they are not recyclable.

I also just read that DC Comics is going to change Superman to be both anti-american and bisexual....

Ugh... that is enough news for me for today.

I don't think that's quite right? All I heard was that his slogan is being changed from "The American Way" to "A Better Tomorrow" to be more global. And it's Clark Kent's son Jon (also known as Superman) who's come out as bisexual.

You apparently are correct on the second part... looking into it, other articles confirmed what you state and it is the son that is going to come out that way... The original artical I read, which I can no longer find, was not that clear on it.

No matter... I've not really followed American comics in some time, and really do not follow many of the live action superhero type movies made over the last two decades... these newer variants of childhood favorites just do not come across as overly appealing to me.

I have passed my counter-balance fork lift truck training.

Just. As in if I'd taken another minute, the penalty points I accrued would have meant I failed.

The trainer recommended that I be supervised for a while, which I'm totally fine with. I've seen what a fork lift can do, and like Spider-Man, that power is a big responsibility.

Ummm... apparently, some bar in TX has decided to ban Mariah Carey's All I want for Christmas song until Dec 1st, and only after December can it be played a maximum of 1 time a day...

Well... I never really fell in love with that particular song, but there is one I do love and play a lot... So... Were I a patron down there, I would play her Oh Santa song a bazillion times on repeat... I do that for myself anyway...

It's something you get used to, after 60hours of driving you start to get the feel for it after 100 you don't even think about it.
