The credit for the above image goes to *pairadocs on deviantart. I ran across this image while looking for art of the Rogue Trooper character from 2000 AD comics. After reading the creators commentary, and flipping through Star Wars Allegiance by Timothy Zahn it occurred to me that there is a story here.
I see a tale following the exploits of a talented Storm Trooper, whose skills saw him eventually trained as Shock Troopers, a Zero-G assault Trooper, and finally a Storm Commando. He was up for promotion to the Coruscant Guards when he learned the truth about his beloved Empire. That the nobel ideas he was fighting for, were not the same as his superiors and perhaps not even the Emperor. Disillusioned, our trooper goes AWOL.
Our trooper joined up because he believed that all sentient beings have a right to peace, security, and justice. The only freedom he felt theyÆd lost was the freedom to act irresponsibly, or recklessly, at least when it endangered others (Think a more militant Klatu from the day æThe Earth StoodÆ still). As such he is not interested in joining the rebel alliance, though as long as they restrict themselves to militart targets heÆs not inclined to go after them either.
After some soul searching he decided to spend his days hunting down the corrupt, the criminal, and all the other predators preying on the good and decent beings of the galaxy.
ItÆs rough but IÆm curious as to your thoughts?
