This is technically not a fanfic, for though it's set in someone else's setting it's also one where I was one of several involved in creating its canon. We're still in middle of contractual negotiations for the reprints. This novella has been deemed slightly non-canon, so I'm now free throw it around as a sample.

At over 77k words this 'novella' is actually of novel size on its own. :p Maybe I should have gone ahead and reworked into into an ebook or doc format.

Although that amount is nothing to the fanfic scene. There's indeed a peril in practicing with fanfic, the limitless online medium, and then trying to break into print media. The habit of bloat is hard to shake once ingrained.
