...'Spring of drowned Shikima'? :lol:
Very very tragic story of demon of lust and perversion who drowned in spring 1,500 years ago!
Anyway, the basic idea may sound like 'Ranma the Amorous Oversexed Nympho', but it's actually a little different. The Shikima race from La Blue Girl is a shapeshifting race that literally NEEDS to consume sexual energies in order to survive (it's only mentioned briefly in the series, but is true - a Shikima who doesn't have sex will eventually starve to death).
Also, it should be noted that while his cursed form is female, the need to feed on sexual energies is present regardless of what form he's in. Male, female, no difference.
This of course puts Ranma in a conflicting situation. On one hand, he doesn't want to use women simply for the sake of sex - and of course he refuses to use men AT ALL, duh. On the other hand, he doesn't want to die of starvation either. Thus, a compromise must be reached.
The surprise engagement, of course, throws a monkey wrench in the careful balance he obtained. Yes, it offers a solution - a steady source of 'food' without excessive guilt attached. On the other hand, he really can't bring himself to force any one girl to be attached to him for the rest of his life.
And from there on, any skilled writer can take the story in many different directions. What will come from the fiancee' mess? Which girl, if any, will win Ranma's heart? Or, will he choose to do something drastic and irreversible?
From this base idea, one can write a romantic comedy, a darkfic, a lemon or even an action-filled series. The possibilities are many...
