Hi. This is a plot bunny that hasn't escaped the vorpal wrath, and I had to write it. I wonder how it'll go, but eh. Keep on reading as you learn more. Oh, and I need a better disclaimer. Suggestions are good for me, and flames are hard to come. Later!

Darkness.

There was nothing else around him… although he did not know anything but that. He was someone… but he did not know who. All he was was… someone. And yet, this knowledge did not bother him in the least.

It was…

Light.

There was light in front of him. A bright, colorless light, fading against a mix between two colors he did not know. And, standing in front of it, a dark blurry thing.

“Ah… who…” he groaned, voice hoarse from lack of use as he stared at the dark blurry thing. Even as he did, he could notice certain details about his own voice. It was quiet, meek, and while rather high-pitched, it was deep enough that it certainly belonged to a male.

“Shh…” said the dark blurry thing, who put something on his shoulders, keeping him down softly. “It’s okay… I’ll explain everything to you soon.” The voice was soothing, calm, and feminine. It was nice to hear it, and safe… for some reason, he felt safety and goodness as he heard her.

He closed his eyes once, and then opened them again; the light was now well-filtered, he realized, as he stared in the eyes of a woman.

The woman was young, even for an adult. Having long hair that was curled in some manner, and clear eyes that seemed to fit her well, she seemed like a pretty woman. But there was something weird with that thought, even if he could not understand why…

“Who… who are you?” he asked, before shaking his head. “Who… who am I?” She moved the thing that was put on his shoulders, which was apparently her hands, so that it moved besides his arms and behind, to his back.

“I’m your mother… and you are my son… Daedalus,” she explained, as she pulled him closer. With that action, he was rubbing his face on her chest, in a manner that felt… right. Nice. Even as she did so, he could feel himself acknowledging what she said. His name was Daedalus. She was his mother. He was her son.

“I’m… your son… Daedalus…” he repeated, as she began holding him tighter, a nice sound coming from her mouth.

“Yes… that’s right. You’re my son… I’m your mother… and now, we are finally together,” she whispered, before releasing him. There were some odd liquids flowing down her face, and as he stared at her, he couldn’t help but feel… strange. Why was she reacting like that?

“Mom? Are you in there?” another voice asked, and as he looked over his mother’s shoulder, he managed to see a young girl, several years younger than the woman. Her hair was rather short, with some funny things on the front, but she had eyes in a color a bit different than his mother’s. However, the two of them looked familiar, as if they were… something?

What was that word… why couldn’t he remember it? He was certain that the word was familiar to him, even as that feeling, but he could not specify what it was. And his head felt… weird… some painful feeling rushed through it, even as he tried to think of it…

“Mom?” the girl asked, before turning towards them. Her eyes closed and opened fast. “Who… who is that boy, mom?”

His mother released him, her face colored with a weird tone. She seemed to be feeling somewhat unwell, given how she was acting all weird. She looked at the girl with a peculiar look, before turning back at him, sighing.

“Hi, Leona… this is Daedalus. He’s your new little brother… he’ll be living with us from now on. What do you think of him? You like him?” she asked, in a flurry. The girl seemed to pause for a second, before doing the same face action as his mother. She didn’t seem… well, negative. More like their emotions were similar, but not the same.

“Oh, I see. He looks a lot like dad, though… why does he?” she asked, moving her face to the side. His mother moved away from him and closer to her. She put one hand on her back and took her closer.

“Well, dear, he can’t very well be my son with your father without looking like him, can he?” she told her, and Leona seemed to consider this for a second.

“I guess… it’s kind of weird, getting a baby brother just like that. I thought it would be… I don’t know, different. But he’s cool, from what I can see. He’s living with us now?” she asked, and his mother nodded.

“Of course! Where do you think a family member goes to live? The sewers?” she replied, her face contorted oddly. Leona made some funny sounds, rubbing the back of her head with one hand.

“That would be funny, if our relatives went to live on the sewers!” she replied, making those sounds again.

Interesting premise, Daedalus huh... interesting choice of name.
Hope to see where his life takes him, and hope to see what robot masters he bumps in to.
