Anyone ever find any good Final fantasy Stories?

For me, I am a fan of Final fantasy. FF7 in particular, but there are so few good fictions out there...

And don't get me started on the travesties that happen to Cloud (one of my favortie characters).

So here I am wondering if anyone has found any good ones?

To start off, here I have two. They are of Reno, and an OC, but dont let that fool you, they are very well written, and picture the turks in a rather interesting way.

I like the Final fantasy series, but its hard to find a good story when 99/100 fics are yoai trash.

Once spent an hour trying to find a squall/quistis fic and never found one worth half a damn.

The only FF fics Id bother reading are FFT ones. And finding a Ramza/Meliadoul, Ramza/Rafa or (especially) Ramza/Altima is essentially impossible.

To be honest, it's been a long time since I've read any of the ones above aside from Sowing the SeeDs (which I really like, despite some of the twists in it - it focusses on Quistis and Xu - what's not to like? ) so maybe I'm remembering them through rose-tinted spectacles...

Well, I did find some interesting FF8 fics that deal with the 'Rinoa is Ultimecia' angle...

(and frankly, there's almost overwhelming evidence pointing to it being a fact, not a theory - not the last of it being that Ulty looks like an older, meaner Rinoa and that her Ultimate Summon's name matches that of the endant Squall gave Rinoa. Also note WHERE Ulty's castle is - smack in the middle of the area where Rinoa promises she'd be 'waiting'...)

Rinoa-as-Ultimecia was always one of the angles that I found really interesting. One of the first things I ever tried writing was a fic along those lines. Never made it into the outside world, though... and frankly it was awful.

Ultimecia also has the whole 'Evil Angel Wings' thing going. I wonder what happened to Squall (her Knight) to make an originally good Sorceress go insane? (Yes, he probably died... the question would be how...)

Well, Butterfly Effect by Kiraya is pretty well written, just cross your fingers and hope it doesn't end as blatant yaoi.

I think all of her other stories are stated to be yaoi, so I never checked them.

Wel, if anyone feels like going insane, there is always the epic 100 chapter Quistis/Fujin fic Frozen. Took me something like two weeks to read it.

I got though it solely because i'd just finished Utena's series and i'm a massive Quistis fanboy.

It did drag at times though, and was waffy as hell, but hey, still not a bad tale.

It should be noted that "The Insane" has Algus(FFT), Seifer(FF8), and Rufus(FF7) as the main characters.

Rufus and Cloud is also quite good IMO though it has a tragic ending as it were.
