Do they ever mention the reason why Shirou's hair has turned white in the future or is it just something that you're supposed to guess?

As far as I know it was never mentioned. Only some doujins have gone into that issue from what I've seen.

Oh. :( So what did the Doujins say about it?

I have to go look through what I have to see, but there was one that I remember off the top of my head where he said that time was different at the throne of heroes so he looks a lot older.

The reason for Archer's physical changes is twofold. It's partly due to him using his tracing abilities a lot, and also because of the pact he made with the world (i.e., him becoming a counter-guardian). Well, that's the reason why his hair is white, his skin is darkened and he has much more bulk. The reason why his hair is all saiyan-jin-style is because he's just a bad-mofo. =P

Just kidding. He does look a lot less stressed when he lets it down though.

suupa aaacha-jin? would that make Gil-kun Vegeta and Emiya!Archer Goku? :snigger: :p

well both aging the character, the life and experiences Emiya!Archer has lived alongside the amount of stress and/or the effect of his skills could be taken in to account for the fact that his hair is whited (grayed?) out

that or the Type Moon did want him to seem badass for no reason but just being himself :p

He does... heck the same could be said for Gil.

I always took it to be one of those "colored for dramatic effect" things. You know, he's dead, so his hair loses the color that signifies "vitality".

No, Goku is Berserker.

Yes, it can be explained others ways ("Archer, why IS your skin color off of mine?" "...I spent a lot of the time in the Bahamas" "..."), but I do recall that it was stated that it was simply due to him using his tracing abilities too much. But really, even UBW!Shirou probably won't have that problem, since he didn't have to build his reality marble up from scratch.

He does... heck the same could be said for Gil.
No, no... THIS is the real reason...

Mmm, but what about the other servants? Even disregarding Lancer, Berserker, Gil, Rider and Saber for their divine/other than human status, that still leaves you with Assassin, Caster and Avenger (who took after Shirou) with 'normal' hair.

Caster isn't "normal" - the ears, the light purple hair, being from the Age of the Gods, etc. If I remember correctly, she has a bit of divine blood as well.

Assassin (I assume you mean Kojiro, since True Assassin's hair wasn't shown) never existed in the first place, so any image of him is entirely generated by the culture. His hair color might as well be plaid for all that matters.

As for Avenger, come on. No case for "normal" even remotely applies! He's Angra freakin' Mainyu!

Errmm... I disagree... ^^;; However, with no material to back up from claim, I'll just have to disagree on general basis.

Also, I'm fairly sure the Caster has no divine blood. I'd have to look up her legend more closely to be sure tho'. The ears are just there for that elf-ish appeal. ;)

Also, odd hair colors in general aren't unnatural; Shinji has BLUE hair for goodness' sake! Sakura has purple as well, but that has a reason behind it.

I found a translated version. Right here.
Yes, there's actually a great number of those, a lot of them have been translated as well. Unfortunately, I'm unsure as to where they are, I found a lot of them on 4chan but forgot to save them. ;_;

Also, Ecchi, post more! ^_^ I miss your witty comments.

Looked it up.

Medea was the daughter of King Aeetes of Colchis, who was the brother of Circe the Witch. Both Aeetes and Circe are the children of Helios, god of the Sun.

That's some pretty strong divine blood, right there.

Caster actually had normal ears until F/HA. She was given "elf-ish" ears due to so many fans drawing her with them. They apparently drew her that way because she looks like Ren from Tsukihime. :p

Me witty?

As for me not posting lately... well I blame it on DKG. >_< Infernal WoW

Which means at best, she is only divine by 1/4 of her blood. Not really divine, just more powerful than average. (As shown by her talent in creating magic items and her High-Speed Divine Words.)

Well, more than that - her grandmother wasn't mortal either; she was a nymph. Aeetes and Circe were 100% non-human, although not 100% divine. Don't remember about Medea's mom, though, so she's likely at least half human.

And I wasn't arguing powers, anyway - just pointing out a very likely reason why she doesn't have "normal" hair colors, and still isn't white-haired like Archer.

Have you forgotten the laws of anime?

Law 31: Law of Follicular Chroma Variability

Any color in the visible spectrum is considered a natural hair color. This color can change without warning or explanation.
You don't need a reason for a character to have odd colored hair. :p

Bah, we all know the real reason why his hair and skin colour changed... if he showed up in Rin's house looking the same as Shirou, people would put two and two together and completely ruin the story.

I have a better suggestion, now.

Overstrain from keeping Sakura's lust under control. :snigger:

It's sad, but it's hinted that Archer killed Sakura in his timeline instead of going our HF Shirou's route. Similarly, it's also hinted that he lost Saber (via the normal Fate ending, but not 'freeing' her), and without actually banging her (or Rin).

Isn't it sad, Acchin?

EDIT:

Yes, you, witty! :p

Ah, well then, I suppose that's understandable. Video game addictions are hard to break. *nods*

That works with the idea I just PM'ed to you FO. When you get a chance, read it and tell me what you think.

so THAT is why he's so angry/jealous at Shirou... it's envy! :p
considering all the attention his other self got :snigger:

Emiya!Archer> ...o(damn me, i didnt know i was such a pimp!!!) *spying around jealously about his past self*
Shirou> haaai haaai *sighs then continues doing chores* ...o(i wish Saber didnt eat so much, and Tohsaka didnt tease me so much... and that Sakura was a little less insecure about herself)

Well, I didn't mention it because it was sort of out of context of that post, but Archer apparently DID have a special relationship with Ilya. I'm not sure if it was sexual, but it's probably more than what Shirou has with her.
