Naruto Battles You Wanted To See

Which battles did you want to see in the manga but never happened or were never shown?

Sasuke vs Neji - Rookies of the Year, geniuses and doujutsu wielders. The possibility was hinted at during the Chuunin Exams but never came about.

Team Kakashi vs Team Gai - An alternativee to the above. These two teams are like reflections of each other and their teachers are eternal rivals. Maybe it could have gone down in the Forest of Death in Part 1, or a sparring match in Part 2. Bonus points if Kakashi and Gai fought one another too.

Sakura vs Kabuto - Medic vs medic. Something for her to do during the Sasuke and Sai Arc.

Haku vs Sasuke - Wind against lightning, water against fire and bloodline limit against bloodline limit. Godly potential for both. Why'd you have to die, man?

Team Seven vs Team Taka - Hinted at during the Itachi Pursuit Arc but never came about and is another example of two teams mirroring one another.

Konan vs Sakura, Ino & Hinata - I think this was in an anime opening. It would have been nice for Konan to have a fight before getting murdered by Obito.

Tsunade vs Pain - Because what actually happened was kind of sad.

Kakashi & Gai vs Seven Swordsmen - Just to see it all go down.

Kakashi vs Edo Sakumo - If only they hadn't had the talk during the Invasion of Pain Arc that made this unnecessary.

Naruto vs Edo Jiraiya - Just 'cause.

Konoha 12 (w/o Naruto) vs Sasuke - Considering these guys had all decided to off Sasuke themselves for the greater good, it would have been nice if they've done something about it instead of Sakura by herself. Or if Sasuke hadn't swapped sides during the Fourth Shinobi War and fought them before Naruto.

I saw part of that opening, and it looked badass. I would have loved to see this. Especially if it happened right after Shizune went down and the trio witnessed it. (BTW, anyone got a link to the full opening?)

Naruto and Tsunade VS Edo Tensei Jiraiya: cause I would love to see Tsunade and Naruto working/fighting side by side. And them versus Jiraiya, who would have to take Naruto seriously instead of playing with him? Oh hell yes.

Tsunade and Naruto vs Edo Tensei Sarutobi: Naruto taking on the person who (arguably) influenced him the most in to believing what a good ninja is and isn't, and who really helped shape his opinion on what a Hokage should be? Epic.

Naruto VS Edo Tensei Minato and Kushina: Just because.

Hell I'd like to see Naruto vs Tsunade in an OVA. The rematch would be amazing.

Zombie!Jiraiya would have infinite chakra so he could just use Shadow Clones to gather the nature energy for him, like Naruto did against Pain. He would probably only be able to summon two or three at a time without impairing his own ability to fight (same limitation as the Zombie!Hokages) but he could keep summoning more whenever they dispelled to keep topping off his Sage Mode whenever it gets low.

Y'know in some cases they probably would be happy to fight alongside him... depending on the intentions of the one who brought him back!

I'd imagine that it wouldn't be an issue though, if he'd completely mastered Sage Mode like Naruto and Hashirama.

Hrmm, I just wondered where Hashi would have learned his Sage techniques from.

I'm giving Jiraiya the benefit of the doubt and assuming he has a moment of inspiration, or that he's tried the idea before but dropped it because he didn't have enough chakra to abuse Shadow Clones like Naruto does.

It's also possible that whomever revives Jiraiya (assuming Orochimaru or Kabuto in this scenario) heard about what Naruto did and tells Jiraiya to try it himself.

Which indicates that he half-assed his Sage training... which kinda doesn't feel right. Jiraiya could be laidback, but training always seemed like something he would take seriously.

He's too experienced to let himself go that much.

Based on that, it sounds like Jiraiya can balance natural energy with his chakra but can't absorb it himself. So maybe he couldn't progress past using toad oil? And has the fuse with the toads so he can absorb natural energy from them and then stay in Sage Mode as long as he likes.

Fuksaku later says that Jiraya couldn't fully master Sage Mode but even turning only a bit into a toad was impressive. And considering he hated how ugly he looks, he'd at least have motivation to try.

So you need extreme chakra levels to even think about learning senjutsu, Orochimaru couldn't use Sage Mode because none of his stolen bodies could handle the stress, and Jiraiya couldn't do it alone because he can't absorb nature energy without help.

I'm starting to think that senjutsu is less something you learn and more something you are simply lucky enough to be born able to master. Skill is secondary to natural talent. Which makes Naruto's ability to perfect senjutsu in a week a bit easier to swallow.

Also I suppose if Orochimaru or Kabuto were the ones summoning Zombie!Jiraiya for this matchup that they could just fuse Juugo's bloodline with Jiraiya's body to passively absorb nature energy for him, same as Kabuto did for his own body.

Naruto's talent is actually chakra shaping. He's an absolute genius with it, so much he can shape his chakra on the spot to match other people's once in Kurama Chakra Mode.
I guess it works the same with balancing his own chakra and Nature energy. It also explains his ability with Rasengan.


And I'm imagining Kabuto summoning Jiraiya only for him to dispel the Control Seal like Madara did. Because _JIRAIYA_ is the sennin actually good at seals, Orochimaru is apparently relatively mediocre(and Tsunade probably is an expert only in medical-related seals, if any)
