So here is a thread for the new show Beware the Batman.
So the first episode has aired, what are people's thoughts?
I for one am interested in how this show is showing that despite his skills Batman is still human and can be hurt. It was always there in previous shows, but is often times seriously downplayed most of the time.
Most of the time injuries only occur to ramp up Dramatic Tension, it is unheard of for Batman to get hurt fighting mere grunts. This show seems to have taken the route that "yes he can get hurt and it can effect his performance, every fight Batman is in is seriously dangerous". It should be interesting to see if the show keeps that tone.
Now some complaints, Batman's lips look ridiculous. And the whole "Bat Computer AI" is a little ridiculous.
Okay now comes the big question. How long will DC stick to their guns about not having Big Name Villains?
My guess is that they will wait until the second season, and then BAM! Joker comes out of nowhere, wrecks some of the lesser villains shit for the lulz and Batman has to embark on a multi episode quest to track him down and stop him. Because making the Joker a serious threat that needs to be dealt with fast due to the collateral damage he causes would be a good way to move away from his portrayal in most recent cartoons as a recurring villain.
What I am saying is that I think it is likely that in time some of the more notorious Big Names will be brought in, but saved for "special events" that are incredibly dangerous and do not occur that often.
