Akamatsuverse Brotherhood Facts

#1
Since I haven't written anything in weeks, I figure I should probably try a Facts thread before I forget what my keyboard looks like. Since Brotherhood seems to be one of my more popular fics, I'll do it first.

Right, you all know the drill. Three names. Three facts about each name. Spoilers are almost assured. Repeats are possible, but repeatedly asking for the same character over and over will result in either a firing of the Ignore Cannon or me writing about some less asked-after character instead.

Go.

Mutsumi Otohime

1: Mutsumi and 'Na-chan' have been best friends since they were children, and still regularly correspond with one another. She still isn't quite sure why her parents suddenly decided to move back to Okinawa all those years ago, or why her father frowns on her sending letters to the Hinata House, but she's never deemed it important enough to ask about.

2: While the Otohime family has come into a lot of money ever since the introduction of Tiberium to the Okinawan biosphere, Mutsumi has regularly turned down her parents' offer to pay her way into Tokyo U. Besides, repeatedly failing her exams gives Na-chan a chance to catch up!

3: When Nod forces attacked the GDI base and research facility at Kadena in the final months of the First Tiberium War, Mutsumi was caught up in the fighting. The last thing she remembers of that day is pulling a GDI Orca pilot away from his crashed aircraft when there was an explosion, pain, and glittering green. The pilot survived with only minor injuries, but Mutsumi herself was thrown ten feet over a fence and rolled down a steep hill. She broke three ribs, her left arm, and both legs, along with a number of cuts, a particularly deep gash in her side, and a blow to the head that left her in a coma for almost three months.

Spoilers said:
By the time she woke up, the flesh around where the Tiberium had sliced her open had already started to crystallize.
Kane

1: Tiberium arrived precisely when Kane said it would. And of course it did. The Scrin have always been laughably predictable.

2: He's always been fascinated by the Biblical story of Cain and Abel. They got the important parts all wrong, of course, but the basics are there.

3: Kane knows what is coming. Has known it for millenia. And soon he will see whether his ten thousand years of planning will finally pay off.

Keitaro Urashima

1: Keitaro was raised within the Brotherhood since before he could walk, as has his mother, his mother's mother, his great-grandfather, and on down the line. The Urashimas have served Kane for almost a thousand years, and Keitaro has always been proud to continue that legacy.

2: All Keitaro knew about Kanako when she was first taken in by his family was that her parents were honored martyrs of the Brotherhood. He was glad to have her as a sister as well as a Sister, but he kinda wished she was a bit less... grabby.

3: Faith that has been tested always comes out stronger. Keitaro tries to remind himself of this every time he thinks of how his little sister wound up following in her parent's footsteps rather than his own.
