Comics to film

After the success of the marvel movies and the issues with the DC ones I began considering ways to handle other comics which I will present here, and also ask for your own thoughts on the matter.

Wildstorm

The first movie, possibly the first two would follow Yon Kohl and use the formation and deployment of Team one in the 30's against the growing Daemonite threat as an introduction point for the viewers. It would be a tad like Indiana Jones mixed with Highlander. So you'd see John Colt (Yon Kohl) working with Lord Emp, Zannah, and Majestros to stop/capture a Daemonite device headed to Nazi Germany. You'd also have flashbacks showing that Yon has been fighting the Daemonites off and on for over two thousands years ever since the Kheribum ship crashed.

If I can get the studio to commit to a duology. The first movie ends with them destroying the Daemonite weapon, but Germany goes ahead and invades Poland anyways.

The second movie would begin with Pearl Harbor and would imply that Lord Emp knew about the Japanese attack, could've stopped it via his information network but let it happen to bring the USA into the war since the Daemonites were counting on them staying out of it. The rest of the movie would play out a bit like Captain America with John Colt, Zannah and Majestic leading strike teams to dismantle daemonite ops one by one. The movie would end with John colt's 'death' and the crippling of the Daemonite war machine which would allow the Allies to take down The Nazi's and their allies. The movie would end on a scene implying Kheribum tech had been used to save Yon Khol's brain pattern, Lord Emp would be holding that data crystal in hand while looking at schematics of a primitive 'Spartan' Android. Majestros would be shown heading into space to continue the war against the main Daemonite forces while Yoh Khol is in charge of earth's Kheribum forces. Zannah, takes on the name Zealot and begins hunting down her rogue Coda Sisters.

The first "WildCATS" movie would actually begin with the end of Team 7, showing Grifter and his team being screwed by I.O., Cole Cash revealed to be telling this story to Zealot after she saved him from a damonite capture team. From there he's brought into the WildCATS as they seek to recruit Priss and figure out who in the various world Governments has been taken over by the Daemonites and for what purpose.

Elements of Team 7 would run through all the Wildstorm films. I want to leave a lot of the details mysterious or implied, but show that the experiences of it's team members is what started The Age of Covert Meta teams.

Thoughts?

Edit: Majestics adventures would play out like Thor, a Science Fantasy in which we see strange new worlds, unique and interesting alien cultures and face epic threats as Majestic fights the main Daemonite force across the galaxy. With majestic I can have the awesome and brutal fights seen in Man of Steel happen in strategic locations on Alien worlds. Majestic will try to minimize civilian casualties, but in general there shouldn't be a lot of innocents left in the area when the Kheribum and Daemonites go to war. That said there will also be a lot of times he uses his scientific knowledge to overcome a problem rather than straight force.

My goal with Majestic is to take a bit of Thor a bit of Superman/Man of steel, strip out the bad, use the good and add in a little science to create an epic hero that will out do both movie franchises. Admittedly not hard when it comes to Man of Steel.

I would love to see a StormWatch movie. A group of super-powered beings, under the control of a madman, who try to keep the world safe... considering many (from what I recall) had military/law enforcement backgrounds, it would be a great team movie.

Play it right, it could be better than Agents of SHIELD.

I'd like to see another Firebreather or maybe Tech Jacket. Tech Jacket has been getting new comics lately so it's a live property again!

You know what would be awesome, if done properly with a proper cast and a good director (especially a good director), a Sandman movie. I'd pay to see that.

...or possibly a new Gen13 movie.

Strikeforce: Morituri

There was an attempt to make this series into a tv movie about a decade ago, but it appearently never came about.

Premise: Aliens have invaded Earth, and have nearly finished conquering it and stripping it of it's resources. A scientist has developed a process that will give select humans superpowers, but at the cost that those same powers will kill them within one year of undergoing the process.

I bought this series on Ebay a while ago, and was impressed with the story and premise. I think this would be a great movie, with the right cast.

I kind of wonder if a Legion of Super Heroes film could be done, and more importantly, if it could be done well. They did appear a couple of times on Smallville, but that was set in Superman's youth, not in the 30th/31st Century.

It would be a very expensive film, special effects-wise, I believe.

Not really. Just set it in space or a space station.

The current run of Archer and Armstrong should work. The first graphic novel Could easily be turned into a full movie.

Was thinking in terms of powers (a potentially wide variety of them), and making them look real.

James Cameron still has the rights to a Battle Angel Alita/Gunnm film.

I think a version of Wanted that is true to the comic would be doable now.

The Darkness would make an excellent film. As would Witchblade.
