Nasuverse Competitive Eater Saber-chan!

Emiya Shirou frowned as he reviewed his calculations for this month's expenses. The amount of Yen he had been spending for food had significantly risen to a point where it was about fifteen times the amount that he would need to spend if he were only buying enough food for himself.

Upon the death of his foster father, Shirou had inherited a large sum of money and the deed of the house so that his basic survival needs would be met. When Fuji-nee and Sakura-chan had started coming over, his food budget had gone up but stayed within reasonable limits since the accumulated interest would help him cover for that.

Now that Saber came over for dinner on a regular basis for Sakura's cuisine, he found that he was spending more than he expected to keep his fridge stocked with enough ingredients for Sakura to cook larger quantities of food to satisfy the large appetites of the Servant and Fuji-nee. Add Rin to the mix (who claimed that as a responsible Master, she would accompany her Servant as much as she could) and he found himself thinking more about his depleting financial resources.

"Sempai?"

Sakura's voice snapped him out of his thoughts and back to the dinner table where Saber had just requested another bowl of rice much to Fujimura's dismay. "Sorry... I was just thinking of something."

"Wanna share it with us? It may help relieve some of the stress on your shoulders," piped up Rin.

"Well, it's just that I've been spending a lot more money than usual for food and if this keeps up, my account will be dangerously low within a year."

Both Saber and Fujimura paused in their eating, simply on the basis of feeling a little guilty for contributing to Shirou's stress. "Well, I have a simple solution for that..."

When Shirou heard the tone in Tohsaka's voice and noticed the look on her face, he had the feeling that he wouldn't like what she had in mind. Just as he finished that thought, Tohsaka reached into the pocket of her black skirt and pulled out a piece of paper that had been printed from an internet website.

"We're going to register Saber as a competitive eater with the International Federation of Competitive Eating!"

**********

Fic is based on the normal ending of UBW (with Saber, Rin and Shirou living normal happy lives and Rin not going to London to study as a magus).

Ok, the set-up still needs some work and I know that there is an easy alternative way for Shirou to deal with the problem but I would think that Tohsaka's mischievious side would want to see how far Saber can go in competitive eating since her stomach is kind of the equivalent of a human vacuum. Also, this premise can use scenes like these...

**********

Her cold emerald eyes turned to glare at the people that had organized this event. "You actually have the audacity to label these... things as hot dogs?!?"

"Shit... this isn't going well," muttered Rin as she saw mana flow furiously around the Servant who had changed into full fledged battle mode with Excalibur in her hands. "Shirou, help me restrain her!"

The young male just looked at her in disbelief. "Can't you just use a command spell?!"

"I don't want to waste a command spell on something as trivial as this!!"

"YOU CALL THIS TRIVIAL?!? I can't believe you, Tohsaka!!"

**********

Not one of my best ideas but I'm trying. Thoughts?

And here's the reference to the Federation.

hmm, in all honesty i could see her get into an eating contest with the eight year old Goku and it becomes a draw.

For bonus points, make it against Ciel in a curry contest.

Otherwise, amusing as is.

I honestly don't know much about the Tsukihime universe so any references to characters from there will most likely be kept to a minimum. I know that both FSN and Tsukihime share the same world so I'll see what cameos I can safely insert in here.

Tsukihime and F/SN take place in the same universe (what the fandom calls the Nasuverse, or Kinoko World).

Also, Mirror Moon have had the translation patch for Tsukihime released for a while now. If you have a PC, it's not too hard to get and play the game.

At the very least, Moonlit World has plenty of info on the series and characters. Same for fuyukiwiki.

The FSN manga thread here has a link to scans of the Tsukihime manga. I don't know if they're still up, as its been awhile, but you might want to check.

Thanks for the advice but my primary humour focus for whatever I do for this idea will most likely focus on the FSN characters (since I know them fairly well from watching the anime and playing through some of the game).

The manga is still up, they were uploaded by Lord Phrozen and I believe he keeps them up (at the very least, he'd probably re-upload them).

Amusing snippet Epsilon. ^^ Not much to say about it, but having Saber overreact to sub-par food makes me laugh. 'though I'm sad that you're not likely to include Ciel-senpai in it. That would be a battle to remember. ^^

Well, there's nothing set in stone for this fic yet as it's still very much in development. So I may save Ciel for a future event. It would be amusing for the two of them to go head to head in an eating competition (since someone implied Ciel's crazy for chili).

Curry, man, curry!

She buys and eats curry bread for lunch.

Which by the way, isn't a Nasuverse creation, it actually exists. ^^;;

It's funny to note that Ciel IS actually crazy for curry in canon Tsukihime, unlike Saber who isn't THAT nuts for food in general in canon Fate/stay night.

Hmm...

Does that mean that Kotomine's and Karen's particular tastes are in cannon as well?

She may not be nuts for food and she may not necessarily have to eat in the first place but she does like a well prepared and filling meal and she has the capacity to chow down like mad.

For a future scene, I'm going to have Tohsaka sucker Saber into entering by appealing to her sense of duty that she has a 'debt' that must be repaid to Shirou and that being a competitive eater is the only practical way to do it.

Oh, I never said she didn't like food. It's just that her like of it is often exaggerated to a huge extent. Ciel's love of curry rarely is.

As to Tohsaka suckering Saber... Heh. Saber is such that she'd fall for that easily. *shakes head*

Speaking of Saber's entry as a competitve eater, I doubt that Rin would want to use Arthuria Pendragon as an entrant name. Any ideas for a suitable name?

She uses the first name that she can think of, explaining that Saber is relative of hers.

What name comes up?

Tohsaka Sakura.

Would Sakura-chan really mind that her original name is being used to enter Saber as a competitive eater?

Another thing that I have in mind is to expand on Rin's slacker tendencies (and how she wouldn't mind making easy money). Is it too terribly out of character for her to be making bets on Saber during the contests and rack in some easy dough?

Well, Rin doesn't like to waste money. But I can easily see her betting if she thinks it's easy competition.

In other words, considering she knows how much Saber likes to eat, I don't think it's out of character for her to try and make some money on the side.

EDIT:

Also, if Rin would be using Sakura's name as a way to avoid curious eyes, it wouldn't work. Not only was Sakura's name moved to the Matou registery (anyone looking up the records would know), but Saber looks NOTHING like Rin. ^^;;

Nobody says it would work.

In fact, it would be a mistake that Rin made because she was rushed. After all, that's what I meant by "the first name she thinks of".

I was thinking that Tohsaka would at least come up with a British sounding name.

Go Arturia Potter? :p

If we really wanted a believable story, then being Ilya's relative would be reliable for that cause, even if they don't come from the same region. Or stick with the original story, "Kiritsugu's friend".

True.

*Snort*

Well, the Harry Potter series IS popular in Japan, too. ^^;;

In the case of "Kiritsugu's friend' though, Shirou still called Saber, Saber, and Sakura (kinda) and Taiga bought it.

Shirou could always go that Saber didn't really like her given name or something if he explains the name on the entry form to Sakura and Fuji-nee.

Speaking of Taiga, depending on the time of the competitions, I may be able to register her in some events too.
